The 'I don't like Tesla' Thread

Honestly not sure if it's an April Fool's joke or not. All mention of the Cybertruck was scrubbed from the Tesla website months ago, production dates were delayed and no new delivery estimates were set.

The article starts by saying Elon "confirmed", but then it says insiders heard him considering it.

I don't disagree. The public roads are not the place to test experimental robots. Tesla has a history of playing fast and loose with the law and taking production shortcuts. Their system might be okay on interstates where the traffic flow is simplified and there's no cross traffic, pedestrians, cyclists, or other obstacles - but it should be banned on surface streets.

Data likely shows Teslas on Autopilot crash more than rivals

The government will soon release data on collisions involving vehicles with autonomous or partially automated driving systems that will likely single out Tesla for a disproportionately high number of such crashes.

Who would have thought that a "Fuck it, ship it now and fix it later" approach to self-driving 4,000 lb vehicles would yield dangerous outcomes?

Can Tesla creepwear be turned off?
Tesla’s crash number also may be high because uses telematics to monitor its vehicles and get real-time crash reports. Other automakers don’t have such capability, so their reports may come slower or crashes may not be reported at all, NHTSA said. A message was left seeking comment from Tesla.
