I just saw The Island. It was absolutely bloody fantastic. I'd go as far as putting it into that top echelon of movies where The Original Matrix, Minority Report and Fight Club all sit.

It was good to see the appearance of Wally 118 as Revatio (or something like that). Remember last season of Top Gear where Richard drove the Zonda Roadster and he tried that carbon fibre boat out first?

I love those movies that are futuristic, yet plausible. It's a truly great movie. Who else has seen it?

The trailer put me off. I got the impression that they show you everything in it. What do you guys who have seen trailer and movie think ?

I must say I never saw the trailer, and never saw a review, so I had no idea what it was about before I watched it.

I usually prefer not watching trailers and reviews either, since those silly marketing people seem to give away way too much in them. :p

What can you do if you sit in the cinema. Look the other way ? ;)
Lean forward and stare at the boobs of the chick sitting in front of you? :dunno:

^^ I like that tactic!!

Yeah, it's seriously good advice. That's what I love the boards for.

I think if they hadn't mentioned...erm, what they were-best way I can put it w/o giving anthing away-then it would've been more, more suspensful, more edge of the seat I suppose.

Why would she be facing you, though? :dunno:
Jason, the Z's not mine, unfortunately, I just found the gif on a 300ZX forum. Your dad's lucky to have owned one, though.

Personally, whenever I get a movie on DVD I like to watch the trailer before watching the movie (unless I've already seen the trailer recently, or the DVD has it on the other disc or just doesn't have it). I think the trailer is designed to get you in the mood to see the movie...

Back on topic, I loved the movie and I did see the trailer. I mean sure, it had some parts where it could have been improved, but it was a great movie. Too bad Dreamworks lost money on it... It'll probably do better in the rental market anyways.

I loved the movie too. This seems to be a crappy summer for movies (nothing has done really well since batman). I can't wait until its on DVD so I can watch it in my own theater :-D.

Michael Bay.... :x

That guy is single handedly responsible for some horrible chase/driving scenes!

Just because you give the camera to some geriatric/parkinson patient who then shakes it around and zooms in and out incoherently does not make it look like the car is going fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot emphasise enough how much I hate those scenes, and they are the same in every single one of his fucking movies.

Aaaah, end rant :D

I saw The Island a week ago, and i loved every second of it. If compared with that shitty War of the World, The Island was way better and more interesting to watch. It had superb story, awesome directing, realistic environment and great actor. THE BEST MOVIE I HAVE SEEN THIS SUMMER.

A great actor, yes Ewan McGregor was actually good in this one!

I definitely agree. It did seem to steal a good number of elements from Logan's Run but it was still a good story. It was definitely one of the best movies I have seen in a while. Plus, Scarlett Johansson's action movie debut should have made it a blockbuster :-\. Oh well, the DVD should be good. :-D

umm it isnt tht great ppl...it might be one of the best this summer but it isnt all tht great...hahah kiddin...its fantastic...but more skin on scarlette woulda made it an A grade
