What would be your last meal? We're assuming no expense spared, every ingredient/food is in season, and everything is easily available. Appetizers, main course, desserts, and beverages are all fair game.

Being born and raised a hop, skip and jump away from Baltimore, Maryland Chesapeake Bay blue crabs would be an essential part of my meal. Steamed with J.O.'s #2 spice, a Maryland favorite.

Fresh corn grilled on the barbeque and macaroni salad for sides.

Washed all down with ice cold Clipper City M?rzHon and another Maryland favorite, National Bohemian (Natty Boh!)

For dessert I'd have to go with some classic key lime pie.

So, what say you? What's your final feast? :wicked:
(Inspired by a comment in another thread. Yes this is my first post, hello to you, too. :D)

We're finally gonna need a car where we're going.

And make no mistake, it will definitely be my last meal, ever. As I will die of a heart attack shortly after.

Derek: the sheer mechanics involved in consuming that burger boggles the mind. It would be a helluva' way to go out though!

chvvkumar: interesting choices, I had never heard of either of those things, so I guess I learned something today.

Goddamn....how the hell am I supposed to narrow it down?

Well, here's the short list so far:

Balinese Pig

Crab Bee Hoon from Sin Huat Eating House

Some head cheese and blood sausage from Rogacki Deli in Berlin

A bowl of shrimp wonton and fishball noodle soup from Jim Chai Kee in Toronto (my personal favorite noodle house)

Yes....the wontons and fishballs are actually that big (and homemade to boot)

Maybe a good chicken shawarma platter to boot with extra pita bread, and a classic New York style plain Cheesecake to top everything off.

And as a little extra, my all time #1 guilty pleasure: toasted raisin bread topped with canned sliced peaches and drenched in condensed milk. It sounds strange, but it takes like one giant orgasm.

*EDIT* Can't forget Au Pied, dunno how that one slipped my mind.

I don't eat fast food for a variety of reasons, so i'd think of splurging and eating loads of junk food. Because it doesn't matter anyway, I can't take my chiseled body with me when I go.

I have no idea what I'd pick. Probably some steak or something.

But, here is my smartass response: A handle of Vodka, see if I can die of alobohol poising to thwart them :p

Why not just ask for a poorly prepared fugu? That'll kill you even quicker.

My choice might be influenced by me being away from home cooked food for the past 6 months though...

When I was at home, I wouldn't have been so eager ;)

Surf 'n' turf with a nice bottle of red wine.

I dunno, I do like most of the finer things in life, but I'm not a very adventurous eater. At least this way I get to have both steak and seafood, which are among my favorites.

In the US, if you are sentenced to death, your last meal is typically limited to things available at the local grocery store (which is why you so often hear about ice cream or pie as a last meal) or from a restaurant that delivers.

Following those parameters, I'd have to say french toast (but ask if they can make it with sliced croissants instead of white or sourdough bread), some French Onion soup from Jerry's Old Town Inn in Germantown, WI, 2 Mountain Dews in a can that's been floating in an ice water bath for a solid hour, fudgey chewy brownies with vanilla bean ice cream and hot fudge, and strawberry rhubarb pie with Cool Whip...and then 20,000 volts to wash it down.

Or

Lard-roasted potatoes with some slices of salt cured ham and a glass of fresh milk (fresh from the cow, boiled, and then cooled in the fridge => this gives a tasty thick layer of buttery substance on top of the milk) (fond childhood memories)

Full English (Omit Black Pudding, make sure that the bacon is Smoked bacon with rind on) + a really decent cup of tea.

But...but....but...but....that's the best part of the full english!

See, that was sort of my thinking. I love almost every type of food, and surely I could find something more decadent and sophisticated that I would like. On the other hand, crabs and beer (while not exactly classy) is a meal that I would NEVER turn down a chance to consume.

Interesting and entertaining responses thus far, keep 'em coming!

I love the combination of crabs, grilled mealie and lime pie. It's what I normally eat when I go out with my mates/family.

In fact, I can't think of anything to top that... That's probably what I will have for my last meal as well.

oh... crabs must be grilled, wouldn't mind some nice lobsters, oysters, mussels and king prawns : ) Can't get enough of seafood.

finally.. peri peri sauce to go with it

nandosxtrahot1.jpg

That's what I call a proper meal : )
