When I went to China, everything there turned my stomach. EVERYTHING. So that. Especially fish soup.
(The traditional Chongqing 'hot-pot' would have been ok if I could eat spicy food)

Food is about more than just burgers and chips you know. ;)

We went to an Applebee's down here and we made a joke that any restaurant that serves beverages on a glass with a straw means that they probably wouldn't wash properly the glasses. A friend fo mine asked for a refill of lemonade and the glass border came smelling like beer that was left there for ages!!

About to get one.
Some things I didn't want to try when I was in Beijing:

1. Goat lungs

2. Dog brain soup

3. Dog liver with vegetables

4. Assorted stuff in skewers (silkworms, black scorpions, cicadas, and dung beetles)

5. Seahorse skewers

6. Fried starfish

7. Centipede on skewers

I'm sorry, but I'm sure you'd understand why I didn't have the guts to try them. :)

Really? The only reason I wouldn't try that is if I felt the food preparation standards were too low and I had a high chance of getting a disease.

I would love to be able to try all of the above.

^ Food standards? What food standards? :D

To be honest, I don't think it was set high in the first place, but even if it was, indeed, set high, the cooks there moved at blinding speed you won't be able to actually gauge the standards. :)

Right, then I'd eat it. As long as I don't see them dropping it all on the floor and picking their noses, you know.

I admire you for your courage, then. :) But seriously, the pictures itself are disgusting enough, seeing them in person is a different story altogether.

Look, here's my view on things: If you want to see the most disgusting stuff ever, go to the frozen meals section of your local supermarket, or better yet, visit the cafeteria of any American school. Once you've survived that, cooked anything that is natural seems perfectly edible and delectable.

Secondly, it's not gross just because it's not something you normally see eaten. I suppose everyone's minds play tricks in different ways. I cannot stand to eat off of stained cutlery.

HEY! Fried insects are nice to eat! Especially mealworms and ants, totally crunchy and awesome! :p

On another note, the most disgusting thing ever is the Stinky Tofu (???). I ate it for the first time in Singapore, and though the crisp and everything else was perfect, the smell wasn't. So I held my breadth, ate it, ignored the stinky smell in my mouth, and savored everything else about it :D
Second time I ate it, it was in China, and I had food poisoning from it! :S

I'm on board with Darkshark0159, however I don't think I would eat the dog brains, everything else I'm game.

A friend of mines was telling me that back in Tunisia, when they kill a sheep for it's meat, they keep it's intestines. They wash them out completely, and then they hang it in the sun for a few days. Following this it is cooked and eaten. Apparently it's really good but I don't think I be up for trying it if he offered me some
