Was reminded of Jane Jensen recently, and realized it's been maybe 20 years since I've put any on...

Things are a bit strange in Detroit. I vaguely remember going down this slide when I was a kid.

Lift-off has happened to me on every potato sack slide I've ever been on. I've never understood how people stayed planted without purposefully trying to slow down, which is no fun. :p

Apparently Mongolian Metal on traditional instruments is a thing and it sounds pretty damn good.

Listening randomly to Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start the Fire", I wonder what references an updated version would include.

I think a fun experiment would be to think about what the references would have been in years passed, too. I was just looking at my Monopoly "Hear and now" edition, and laughing at the game pieces: a Motorola Razr flip phone, a 2nd gen Prius, and a new Balance running shoe.

Oh man, then this is going to blow your mind. This was written in the 50s - this version was recorded in '59.

What else would you recommend with a similar vibe?

Can...can the song of 2022 be a beach Boys song from 1972 that just got released?

Your yearly reminder that you can sing the lyrics of Black Sabbath's "War Pigs" along with the music of "Deck the Halls".

Generals gathered in their masses...
Fa-la-la-la-la la la la la
Just like witches at black masses...
Fa-la-la-la-la la la la la

It also works the other way.

Vibe is a difficult thing to define, as it's rather subjective, but some random songs that came to mind that have some similar vibes for me at least:

Something from the same era and genre is rather obvious.

Then there's two people who seem to do all of the music, so there's bound to be something that matches many vibes.

Some extra languages

Maybe a bit more electronic tone

edit:
Something I clicked by accident while searching. Never learned to like them, but it does fit to the same vibe
