I just discovered The Puppini Sisters, thanks to my friend. As some of you may remember I loved Melora Hardin's album, Purr (in fact I just ordered her second album, The Melodrama).

Yeah, I'm from another age and time.

John Lee Hooker. I remember when I first heard him, I was maybe 5 or 6, it sounded so alien, it seriously scared the shit out me, same goes for Howlin' Wolf. Not something you would think a middle class kid would listen to, but my father grew stupidly poor (like no running water in the house poor) in Flint Michigan, so music like this was part of his life.

I saw them live in a free gig in HMV in london. They were damn good, and real nice guys aswell. Their album is called St. Jude. I've got a nicely signed copy. Ready for eBay in 20 years time. As long as they become successful, which I hope they do.

I was thinking of my Grandmother today, and remembered this song.

She passed away at age 90 in 1990, and lived with rheumatoid arthritis for 50 years. But she still had a glimmer of light in her eyes and probably the most sweetest woman in the world despite her illness.

You will be missed, Grandma Alice.

That is such a good song, one of the few cover songs that imo is better than the original, Gary Rossington and Billy Powell

Have you ever gotten a chance to see them live? Johnny ain't as good as his brother, but they still sound great to me!

Any TripHop suggestions, besides Portishead, Blue Foundation, Hooverphonic, Faithless, Lamb and Massive Attack?
