After selling two shitter Sigma lenses and saving like a mofo', my all singing, all dancing, Canon 70-200 2.8 L IS USM is on its way to me from Hong Kong, courtesy of OneStop Digital :)

:shakefist: I'm jealous. :(

Ladies and Gentlemen - I'm going wide!!!

I've just ordered this sweet Sigma 10-20mm superwide zoom, which will also look gigantic on my D40:

:woot:

Damn, are some people here not into photography? I feel left out :(
On the other hand, my 3 year old canon powershot A80 is/was kind of the choice for an ultrabudget "serious" camera, and I've enjoyed it a lot.

I'm with you - everyone's a fucking photographer these days.

Yeah, I'm with the two of you. Although I'll admit I'd like a camera.... but the kind you can put in your pocket, not the kind with a pringles can coming out of the front, that you put on tripods.

^yes I like taking pictures too, but prefer a "point and click" system to having several thousand euros worth of Cameras, lenses, bags, memory cards, and photoshop programs

Great lens. Actually I was quite happy with the Sigma 70-200/2.8 at the time I was shooting both. It's sharp too, great bokeh and it's black. But the canon focuses so much faster and better in extremely low light.. it's just teleporting the focus. And you have an IS. Cool. :)

Which Sigma did you sell? I'm getting the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 HSM, please don't spoil it for me. :(

No worries Ice, it's a great lens. PM me for details if you want.

Actually, I didn't want to get into photography either, I just wanted a nice point-and-shoot for casual shots. Then I started reading reviews and browsing sample shots, and I realised that even the very best point-and-shoot on this planet is mediocre at best. If you are an image quality nazi such as I am, you can only go with a DSLR. And once you're in there, you will buy gear.

Still better than blowing all my money on booze and fags (cigarettes)... :p

i'm with you all, point'n'click is the way for me and my 5 year old hp photosmart 935.

Got myself a tripod for my D40... Will try doing my first proper night shots today.

Fully extended, the camera sits at about 1.8 m above the ground. Perfect for my height...

Turkish design if i'm seeing it correctly, they have the best rugs ever.

Looks like a Persian rug to me, which incidentally are the best. Screw the Turks.

Ah, Persian, the name slipped me, i just checked my rugs, they're persian as well :p

If I ever get to my dream of a dedicated tripping/chillout-room, a huge persian carpet will be the eye-catcher.
