last friday (29.5.2009) (for ahmerikums 05/29/2009) i bought a new phone for me, the "decition?" was hard and i used much help from this forum as possible.
so here's the new Nokia 5800 xpressmusic (with red "racing" stripes):

You were the guy who wrote "best soundstage", right? I'd rather stick to stereo then, instead of having the rear sound getting blasted at me from 30 cm at the front
It is not hooked up as a 4.0 system to the sound card. The sound card sends a pure 2.0 analog signal to the stereo. The "surrounds" as you call them are just repeaters of the higher frequencies.

It was a Dimage X50. It was quite old but it was still working. But suddenly one day, when I was about to use it, the LCD screen was broken (it looked like the liquid from the screen leaked somewhere).
The camera is still working but I don't know how the picture will look like untill I see them in the computer.

Yeah I'd just lose them and set up your system for stereo...
OR get some tiny speakers on a pedestal for the rears and put them behind you.

Well, it depends on how your receiver is set up then. If it's interpreting that 2.0 analog as Dolby Pro Logic it's doing some unintended stuff you probably don't want. And if it isn't, you'd have to make the receiver do some DSP to produce anything other than L/R.
Another alternative is using them as two sets of speakers (A/B) which sounds like it might be what you're doing? I've never seen a system that uses a cross-over for two sets of stereo speakers. Does yours offer that feature?

I gave up on electric shavers years ago. I use a simple Gillette one. It is faster (I shave right out of the shower when my face is wet), and requires less maintenance (just pop off the dull heads).
