More than you plan. You start with a plan, but then "Hmm...well, double the ram only costs this much more...and that bigger hard drive is on sale...and there's a bundle deal with that CPU and this better video card... :p

Think I'll need some time to get used to all the new buttons and the warm, glowy feeling of supremacy.

WAT? A black Macintosh? That's UNpossible!

I have NEVER seen one. It's that common that people seem to think that white automatically = Mac.

it does mean that Polly doesn't stand out from a crow of (regular) black PCs, and that he won't be mistaken for a Mac douchecock immediately

now all he needs to do is install windows on it :p

It does have the douchy glowing Apple logo on the lid. :wicked:

No seriously, I don't like the look of the white Macs very much and the unibody ones are a bit to expensive for me. And thankfully over here, in the real world, nobody gives a toss what laptop I have.

 "real world"

does not compute

You know, the place we hide from during the daylight. Then ghastly haunt thy native place, and suck the blood of all thy race; there from thy daughter, sister, wife, at midnight drain the stream of life; yet loathe the banquet which perforce must feed thy livid living corpse. Thy victims are they yet expire shall know the demon for their sire, as cursing thee, thou cursing them, thy flowers withered on the stem.

I dunno what any of that means?

Also, if I were you, I'd refer to your laptop now as the Blackintosh... it's just cooler that way...

What he said

[edit]
A quick check at the Apple Store confirms that they only sell white macs here. No blacks.

Just borrowed it, but still:

I'm fucken jealous.

I'm wondering if I should get something like this:

http://store.apple.com/au/product/FB466X/A?mco=Nzk2MTU0Mw

Or this:

http://store.apple.com/au/browse/home/shop_mac/family/macbook?mco=NzcwNjc1NA

I've never been a massive mac fan, but my 12-inch Asus is pretty unreliable atm and I seriously wouldn't mind a new laptop at the end of the year.

I'd definitely run bootcamp on it, but my main requirements for a laptop are:

1) Portability - Must be very lightweight and compact (ie 13.3-inch is about as big as I'll go)

2) Battery life - My current Asus F9DC only gets like 1 hour of battery life, and its just not enough.

3) Reliability - I'm considering a Lenovo too atm (I'm a big IBM fanboy)

4) Reasonable performance - I won't game on my laptop at all, but I do run engineering software (e.g Matlab), so reasonably good performance would be nice.

This arrived yesterday - Akasa Integral 3.5" eSATA enclosure for my backup HDD.

Did a backup today and the time was the same as when it was installed internally. Result!

Just bought this a week or so ago, and I'm liking it. For the sake of comparison, my friend's Eeepc is to the right of my HP DV2-1116AX.

The first Mac laptop (well, portable tank if I'm honest) was beige but then every Mac laptop was black up until the iBook :)

Nerdy Mac-fanboy to the rescue! :p

For a random example, the Powerbook 5300 (first PowerPC laptop)
