The "New Toys" Thread

then looks like its v1 device.

Nice. Since you have a red box, it means your router is not plagued with the dying radios issue, well, outside the usual random manufacturing error phail, so \o/ is in order :p

P.S: it means its absolutely, perfectly safe to run DD-/OpenWRT on it :p

My 3700 is a v2... what exactly is the difference? I'm also apparently running Firmware 1.0.0.8 which the auto updater says is the up to date version..?

v1 has better antenna placement for the 5GHz band, so performs better than v2 in wifi. On the other hand, v2 has 16MB flash memory as opposed to 8MB flash memory on v1.

v2 has diff FW versioning, I forgot about that D:. Apparently they don't share FW for some odd reason, so v1 1.0.7.98 = v2 1.0.0.8. Bloody useless programmers.

Also made a test with some video with my ghettoservers *program*, i placed the file to the readyshare in usb 320Gb harddrive connecter to the router.

speeds from my laptop with forced 100Mbit
Code:
So the speeds from Lacie rikiki 320Gb
read = [B]6,8MB/s[/B] max [B]5,8-6,3MB/s[/B] constant.
(writing a file to the usb-hd [B]2,6MB/s[/B] max, [B]2,3-2,5MB/s[/B] constant.)

Speeds from my autonegotiated 1Gbit gaming rig:
Code:
Writing to the same hd.
Read-speed constant is [B]9,37-9,8MB/s (max was 10,2MB/s)[/B]
Write-speed constant is [B]2,65MB/s[/B]

This is the usb-hd's actual speeds from my laptop:

I'll take better antennas.

Readyshare seems as slow as reported. Weird. I guess a NAS is still in order.

So I bought my first Nintendo console in over 20 years today, my last one was an original NES back in the 80's. I picked up a refurbished system, memory card, and a used copy of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes from Game Stop for about $60 total.

Outside of The Twin Snakes, there really hasn't been a game exclusive to a Nintendo system that I've cared about. I kind of got it on a whim because I've been itching to have an MGS marathon, I've had the original version since it came out but I've always wanted to add this version to my collection. Now my only problem is dealing with how crappy it looks on my 40 inch HDTV, I'm currently on the hunt for a cheap set of component cables.

Does having an MBP and a BlackBerry make one a FagBerry? Just curious.

That is why you need a Windows PC and an Android mobile phone, it makes you...
A WinDroid
