We have one. The hardware's great but the printer firmware is extremely unstable, crashing and locking up all the time, even just sitting idle. There have been a ton of updates that make no difference.
Ouch, well that's disappointing. :/
Yeah, about that...

Dammit rick, why did you have to like Kodak?!?
Yeah I saw/heard/read. I think they may have made a mistake. I know that my employer is slowly switching to digital only for photo processing.
We use kodak paper, chemicals (in wet labs...these are slowly disappearing as well), and other equipment + our various machines (I've personally used various noritsu, Gretag, and KIS machines) are serviced by Kodak as well.
While I still end up developing at least a roll of film every shift, people use the photo kiosks like crazy. Potentially selling those for extra cash is insane. Printing at home is annoying and time consuming for many people and things never look quite right. The kiosk makes printing and backing up your camera's memory card easy. Plus the prints that the kiosk prints instantly are waterproof.
Why not sell the cameras, printers, and online services that people take the photos with? It only makes sense since they want to go digital...don't just go halfway, have an end to end solution for consumers with clear messaging, something that they don't seem to be good at. I can't recall the last time I saw a Kodak digital camera ad, maybe actually telling the world that they sell/make cameras would have helped.
