Thanks for directing me to that thread MadCow809, I do realize that 8800GT is overkill for me, however I don't have a problem spending more if it's worth the price, I'll keep an eye out.
Meanwhile I took care of the problem of lack of speakers (it was driving me nuts!:?). I'm not really picky when it come to PC speakers as they will only be used for most videos (not for music, I have my headphones for that), I just needed to have sound for my computer. Having previously worked in retail as a summer job, I was able to pick up a set of new Logitech X-540 for basically nothing through an ex-co-worker.
Due to the way my desk is placed in my room I don't really have anywhere to place rear channel speakers, so both rear speakers and center channel remained in the box, additionally, separated wired volume controller wasn't really my cup of tea either. I ended up giving them to my sister and took back the Altec Lansing ATP4 I gave her quite some time ago, didn't realize how much I miss these until now.
Surprisingly everything worked out almost perfectly, I much prefer the ATP4s (sound & design) and my sister now has 5.1 for DVDs. That's one problem solved, next up, more ram and graphics card.
gfx card get outdated really quickly these days. Rather spend more in the future when you have the time for games.
 Depreciation in computer hardware is exactly why I've been using the VAIO till now, after telling myself it's not worth the money to upgrade for so long, it felt
really weird buying this computer even though the price was too good to pass up. I was still debating if it was a wise choise (especially considering other stuff I needed such as speakers, graphics card, and more memory) before it arrived on my doorstep. It was TOTALLY worth it after turning it on and ran a few tasks through Photoshop, Premier, and DVD Shrink.:lol:
