The official 2008 season MotoGP thread!

^The honda was/is developed for Pedrosa so i'd say it was more than pure luck, but Rossi should have won it but he kinda screwed up... And Nicky hates all the electronic gadgets, but so do most of the Motogp riders.. :p

But the champion is not crowned after only one race. Nicky scored more points over the season and he won it!

I'm just stating the obvious...

Naw, I think it was luck and consistency. I still think that it should have been Capirex's year though(2006).

Don't think West will have a ride next year. I don't understand how he ever got a ride in the first place. He's a mystery to me like Jos?-Lu?s Cardoso was.

Lorenzo is out for the weekend with concussion.

I guess Lorenzos luck has caught up with him?
It's nice to see that the Suzukis are doing well.

I wonder how long Melandri will stay with Ducati..

I think and hope he will ride for Ducati next season too. There is no doubt he is a extremely talented rider, he just needs to sort out whatever problem they are having. I think there needs to be a Italian rider on the factory Ducati, and apart from Dovizioso I don't see any alternative in the near future.

True.. And Rossi wont be riding for Ducati anytime soon, so i guess Melandri is the only option..

Pedrosa rode like he had stolen the bike today!! Equally impressed with Rossi, 3rd row on the grid, finishing 2nd. The last 5 laps he was just playing with Stoner!

Stoner said he had traction problems today, but it was not the tire, probably the set up in some way.
Congratulations to Simoncelli too, 2nd win in a row!

Pedrosa was in a scintillating class of his very own today. Stole the lead from Stoner into T1 and then set an impossible rhythm for the others. Especially considering his tire choice... our commentators were amazed when the tire choice popped up on the screen for Pedrosa... "Hard-Hard", and they were speculating about a possible use of softs. Amazing.

It always makes me a bit puzzled when I think about how popular F1 is compared to MotoGP, on this forum every single F1 race thread has more hits/replies than the whole motogp season thread which I think is a shame considering that every single motogp race delivers more action than a whole F1 season.

Anyways, I just read in the paper that motogp gets more viewers than f1 in Italy!! :) Both motogp and F1 are broadcast live on national tv channels that are free and available to everyone.

On sunday motogp had 8.346.000 viewers with over 9 million viewers tuning in for the last lap! F1 had 7.087.000 viewers.
