Well, if I have ten whole cars to play with, this could be fun
See once you get the Blank Check, you need to drop coin on something that's just foolishly expensive. So you buy an
1) Aston Martin. For me it'd be either a DB-9, or I'd drop more coin and have the DB9's engine put into a DB-7, cuz its prettier
But then you get bored driving your crazy-luxurious car, and you want to go to the track. Sure you could get a Vanq or whatever, but why do you need such a big track car? So you buy a
2) Lotus Exige.
Astons are all great, but they're for
drivers, and if you want to be
driven, you'll need a bigger car. Maybach, Merc, Jag, BMW, whatever. For my money, it'd be the
3) Audi A8L Diesel.
One day, however, you get annoyed at driving your Exige to the track, and decide you need a tow vehicle. Choices abound, do you want an SUV or a pickup? Should it be a dedicated tow or a dual-purpose offroader? If you've got a family, they'll need a car, so you decide to multitask and get a
4) Volvo XC-90 with all the options.
Of course, your house in the mountains has a lot of land, and you need a Utility Vehicle. Again, you've got choices. SUV or truck? Since I've only used five, I'd get both!
5) An indestructible Toyota pickup with the biggest, scariest torquiest diesel around, and
6) A long-wheelbase Land Rover Defender with a TDi swap and galvanized chassis
Now I have a soft spot in my heart for rotaries, and the RX-8s are blasphemously un-turbochargable, so conveniently #7 becomes a
7) Mazda RX-7, the sequential-turbo one. And a few spare turbos to be prepared
I also have a soft spot for a little-known car that needs a little lovin, so I'd buy a
8 ) Subaru SVX and enough spares to keep it running.
I have two more to go, and I can't really think of anoth...wait a minute, yes I can.
For #9, I'll need a grocery getter. But not any grocery getter, no sir. I'd pick up a little japanese wagon, and put it in my shop and do some magic to it, and then I'd have my
9) Subaru WRX STi Wagon baby!
And because I'm a rally whore, I'd need a rallycar to race. So I'd pick up a little japanese sports car and put it in my shop and...you know what's coming up next, right?
10) Subaru 2.5RS body with Frankenstein STi Engine. Rally prepped of course
Now I'm out of garage space! Pooh! The also-rans were a 1953 Corvette which I'd never drive so it doesn't count, a Miata that got replaced by the Exige (duh), a Jeep and a HMMWV that were tied with the Defender but just not quite cool enough, a 1969 Baja Bug that I'd have to move to Arizona to really appreciate, and a 1995 Ford Escort wagon for...nostalgia
Also I love the Noble and my gf would slay me if there were no Morgan on this list, but hey, she gets her ten too, right? ARGH, I can't pick just 10!!
