now this is what happens when you drift, look at that huge difference between the two sides (inner/outer) of the tyre :)
this guy here really wanted to bring out the max from his tires

Damn...

Not compared to most other motor sports.

The advantage of drift, is that you can create a decent drift car (like a good AE86, or s13) for under $15,000-$20,000AUD

When most other forms of motor sport needs a lot more capital investment.

yea... people here use old Lancers (1980's) or any old RWD jap car to drift... so its pretty cheap to get started

SiR_dude what are you talking about :p

the time it takes to kill your tires depends on what type/brand they are, and on car setup (and of course temperature, track etc as well). but they do actually last quite long. in d1 finals it happens quite a lot that 2 drifters run an even round, so they have to go again, sometimes up to 3-4rounds (x2) = 6-8 "laps" withouth changing tires.

old bimmers are also good for drift , 535i or 325 are cheap and powerfull then old japanese cars

there are some guys in japan that modify fwd cars and actually make really long and nice slides with it  adjust camber, small tires at the back, a few other changes and off they go

It's still arse-dragging. :D Front-drivers can't do proper drifts as far as I'm concerned, they need to use the handbrake to get loose.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. ;)

it even works in LFS as well, just change the back to knobbly tires and you're drifiting, me and josty did it the other day :D

In the Drift Bible, thats the first way they teach you how to drift in a RWD car.

if i was him, once half the tire worn out i'll swap them around the other side so the whole tire gets used lol

Well it's not entirely true, I've gotten the rear out on my car without touching the e-brake a couple. Usually under heavy braking at corner entry. If I put little skinny, spare tires on there it would only require a flick of the steering wheel to get it loose.
