USA played in 3 inches of snow! I really wished I had watched that game live. As it is, they are now 2nd in the CONCACAF hexagonal and need to at least draw with Mexico.

Denmark played an excellent second half against the Czechs, scoring 3 goal for a 0-3 win :D Was extremely happy with that. If we beat Bulgaria on tuesday, things are looking pretty good.

As mentioned, Australia is through, as is the Korean Republic and Iran. Carlos Queiroz becomes the third manager in history to qualify three different teams to three World Cups (South Africa, Portugal, and Iran).

The qualifying matches return in September.

So well done as well to "Nice" Korea and Iran.

Carlos Queiroz always seemed like a nice guy as well. I thought he may take over from Sir Alex at Man U, but he left when he was "called" by Portugal.

England game against Moldova was live on TV, so I watched most of the action. (Ads and some of the commentary are a bit annoying, though.)

England were a bit unsure for the first 10, then Gerrard scored a very nice goal which settled them down a bit. They played some good stuff off & on, with Lambert scoring again and Wellbeck getting a brace either side of the break. Moldova didn't bother the defence much.

The Moldova GK probably thought he had quite good game, only letting 4 goals in. But, he looked like he had been watching too many EPL videos and was scared of the English strikers. He never seemed too be sure whether to "stick or twist." (I reckon he is glad the game is over.)

A 4 to zero win, probably not a bad result for England or Moldova, especially their defence.

A couple of odd results from Europe there, but the biggest surprises of the day have to be Mexico and the US losing their matches. A funny thing from Portugal at Belfast, other than the usual "Messi!" chants, Ronaldo was also met with a "you're a cheap Gareth Bale" chant. :lmao: Well, he got a hat-trick in 15 minutes, so may the cheapness continue. :p

Ronaldo just thrives on the hate :p

In other news, apparently a pretty atrocious performance by Denmark. I didn't watch it unfortunately, had to work. The good news is that we did get a win, 2-1 against Malta, and both the Czech Republic and Bulgaria lost their games. We're now only a point behind Bulgaria on second, and tied with the Czech Republic. But on our current form there's not chance that we'll beat Armenia and Italy in our final games, so while out qualifying chances were improved last night, I'm definitely not very optimistic.

Yeah, I had to look up the CONCACAF Qualification and it's pretty close this time, with only Jamaica and Panama probably not in contention.

USA have got both of these left to play, so should qualify. Dunno about Mexico.

I still think he's a great player and crowd pleaser, Sir Alex helped develop him a lot when he was younger.

Ronaldo just thrives on the hate :p

This never bothered him at Man U and used to encourage him to score against Muppet teams.
