The secrets behind the names of places

I live in Monkton, but I was born in Town of the Big House, which is unfortunately not listed on the map.

Edit: reps to those who guess it

In Bosnia, the place called "Luke's Bath" ( Banja Luka ) actually means either something like Ruler's Meadow or Spa Port.

Banja can either mean "spa" or "ruler's" (very archaic), and Luka can mean "meadow" (very archaic) or "port".
But it certainly isn't Luke's Bath.

The region "Bosna" got its name from the river Bosna, which probably means something like "flowing water",
not "Land of the Pure ones".

We need a highly detailed map of that. :D Word!

Ah LOL, didn't see that. "Country of the people of the Word"
because they thought Sloveni means "people of the word".

Actually, Sloveni probably means "people who understand eachother's language",
as a difference to Germanic peoples who are called "Nemci" which translates to "mutes".

Eh? Where did you get "Country of the people of..." from? I only see "the Word". o_O

I live in Breast Hill Castle. Nice.

Sarajevo - Here is the palace? hehe
They named the Sava river Rushwater. If i remember my geography Bosna is the river named Pure.

Sarajevo? Sarai is a turkic word, meaning "residence", and Sarajevo would probably mean something like "residence town", or "the city around the residence".

Bosna has an indo-european root "boss" which means "flowing water",
while "Sava" IIRC doesn't have an explained etymology.
