No need to get all paranoi-ish. The media has a powerful role in todays society, but some Corps. get full of them self and search more power. BBC is one of the most trusted networks, and they're doing a very well job.

To say that all media is stupid is dumb. But I agrre, the media is powerful, and all the big companies within the media business know they are.
The media is needed to front the people. Giving us an view into politics for instance.

Everything that involves a lot of money and power tend to go wrong at times. All media is not stupid though. But som corporations are going to far, it's all natural.

Just my 2 cents. :)
 
of course media is powerful and most of all needed. But to trust ANY media blindly is not very smart. Even the most respected medias have their news written by humans... which mean that they have opinions, and even how hard they try to set them aside it is impossible to 100%. That's why i don't trust any media fully nor belive in "unbiosed" media, better to have openly biosed media lik e.g in the US. And media always tend to manipulate facts and make great stories of news (because it gives them more viewers/readers and money). So in a way they really are stupid but very, very necesary .
