In the beginning of June in purchased a fine piece of german engineering. As per law requires i registered it at my local DMV (DIV here). Since i still had a license plate left from my previous iron stallion that went kamikaze on me, i decided to carry that plate over to my new vehicle. I explained this to my insurance guy and he did what was necessary. When picking up the bimmer they mounted the plate and i was on my way home.
After weeks passed i still had not received the deed that my vehicle was registered with my license plate. I contacted my insurance guy and het told me that the piece of paper was sent back to the head office in Brussels because i was not home to sign for it... (note: all other packages that require me, or anyone else, to sign off are left at the local post office if nobody is home) But not with me.
So yesterday i ventured to our capital to pick up this piece of shit paper. When i arrive at the office there are like 50+ people waiting to get their shit done. Luckily for me i came only to pick up the paper and not register the vehicle, so i didn't have to wait for long. After +-15 minutes i was back outside on my way home.
Twas there that i noticed they had given me the wrong paper, it was for some Yamaha thingy.
So today i went back there, back our capital i hate so much from the bottom of my heart.
I explain my predicament to the lady at the counter. She goes to the back and after what must have been an eternity she came back and asked me to step aside and wait a little bit. The was a problem and another colleague was finding out what went wrong. After 5 minutes i look back into her booth and she tells me that they suspect that they did the same to my paper as they did to the poor Yamaha owner, give it to the wrong guy.
I start to get annoying, and while they are talking they suggest they could give me a new license plate, to which i reply that i'm leaving on vacation tomorrow, with my bike. I ask if they can't reprint the paper, but they can't. They have to follow procedure and must ask permission if they can reprint it, and it's not even printed there.
So after another 10 minutes the same dude that gave me the wrong paper yesterday came back with the right paper. He explains to me that they hadn't come around to sort it to the right box (or whatever they keep it in).
Am i wrong to hate government employees for being incompetent and stupid?
