I had a parcel delivered to my house, namely some brake pipes. I wasn't in to collect the parcel as I was at work and it was too big to fit through the letter box so it got sent to the local post office and will be returned to sender if I don't attempt to collect it within 18 days.
Now, I can request the parcel be sent out again, but I'd just miss it due to work. If I could get hold of an actual human on the phone I could ask them to shove it in the shed behind the house but it's an automated system. I can't do it online either because my address is invalid as it doesn't have a street name.
I
could also have it sent to another house in my postcode area, but I don't know any of the neighbours. Alright, I'll go collect it from the post office then, opening times: Mon-Fri 7am-1pm and Sat 7am-1pm, so when I'm at commuting/at work, the times that I wasn't around to collect the parcel when it was delivered in the first place.
Cheers Royal Mail, your actual post office is open 8:30am-5:30pm so why does the parcel collection end at 1pm?!
I've had to take this Saturday off work to go to collect the bloody thing, if there is a bonus it's that it'll be nice to have a whole weekend free from work for once...
