The "Things that annoy me" thread

My car has Android auto, but only wired. Which isn't that big of a deal, I have zero problems with my Samsung phone from work which is connected with it most of the time.
The annoying part is using it with my personal Oneplus phone. It all works good as long as they battery stays below 100%. But as soon as it reaches full charge while connected with the car, the phone cuts the connection. And that is really annoying.
I know there are adapters to make wired android auto work wireless and from what I read there could also be a workaround by using a micro USB cable with a USB-C adapter. But that just shouldn't be an issue at all.

From what I've found online it is a mostly Oneplus specific problem that has been known for a long time, doesn't seem important enough to fix.

Does your phone have a charge mode that stops at below 100% to preserve the battery? If so, try that... perhaps it works.

Costumes like this, that look like your baby is being regurgitated by the costume.

"Explanation" isn't spelled "explaination" like "explain".

I keep getting down-voted on Reddit when I point out that the mere existence of a small product package doesn't necessarily indicate "shrinkflation", in the shrinkflation-specific subreddit. Multiple people posted photos of the tiny "treat size" Haribo gummy bear package as if they are examples of shrinkflation because the pouch only has, like, 4 gummy bears in it. But they've been that same size for at least 5 years. That's specifically not a case of "shrinkflation", even if the price went up or you get fewer pouches in a same-price casepack.

shrinkflation-specific subreddit.
Found the problem, you'll never sway the conspiracy theorists on Reddit. :p

You're absolutely right, of course. A small quantity doesn't mean it has recently been reduced. The weight of the packet would be the critical thing, it's possible that Haribo have found a way to produce hollow gummies and the weight has reduced, but I doubt it.

As far as Explain, I'll leave the English (simplified) jokes for someone else.

#1: I am being forced to get a new cellphone. There is nothing wrong with my phone, despite it being a bit over 7 years old.

#2: I am being forced to do this because I am changing cell providers, despite the new provider using the same system as my previous provider. I guess they don't want to deal with older hardware.

#3: They have a deal on a phone that is far better than I thought I was going to be able to get, which is awesome. In order to get the deal I have to make payments and do so automatically through a debit or credit card. This is just a pain, let me pay for it and be done.

#4: I was sent a digital document to sign that only has the original price of the phone anywhere in the document. It is sent in a small font and was a pain to read. Why is a digital document being used with such a small font?

Why is your cell phone coupled to the provider at all?

I can buy a phone elsewhere, but not a deal as good as this.

The different cell networks use different frequencies. So I either need to get one that is unlocked, or from the service provider.

Or, capitalism?

cut my right thumb. Right at the tip. Am right handed. Poop.
Button up pants? Yup, cut ripped open again. grab literally anything and forget: you guessed it. Ughhhh. Try and fix a band aid over the whole mess? Either gets soaked because see above or it just doesn’t stick out it sticks way too good and, yup, you guessed it, rips the cut open again. Motherfrigggger

this one day after our daughter managed to run and fall into a wooden slide at the daycare, hitting her head for a nice 2cm gash right on her forehead. Cue ambulance and a lot of panic - but when I arrived the medics just said „take her to the pediatrician and have them tape it, it’s not too bad“. Also no signs of a concussion. On the way to the pediatrician no more than 20 minutes after her fall she was already loudly demanding music in the car and singing along… while devouring multiple fruit bar things.

I thought package delivery issues were pretty much sorted these days. UPS have apparently tried to deliver a package twice (once yesterday, once today) and found nobody in, despite me being there both times and having seen nobody come to the house. There hasn't even been a UPS van and confused driver outside. It's an Amazon order so I don't even know why it was given to UPS.

It used to be a thing where the post code and house number led TomTom users to a house down the road, that hasn't been the case for years though so unless UPS are using an ancient sat-nav I doubt that's the problem. No other delivery company struggled, I think they're just BS-ing me.

When you open a plastic package of something and there is a "tear here" flap of some sort, and when you use that, only to be left with the tear-flap in your hand and an equally well sealed package... Why do they have to use the strongest glue known to man to fix the lid on one-time-use plastic food wrapping...?

How about the shrink wrap with those little perforated sections they somehow think you can tear down? I'm looking at you Listerine and Blue Dragon noodle bowls.

That too. Basically all kinds of plastic packaging and wrapping is infuriating to deal with.

Cardboard can be annoying, too.

I once had a food item sold in a cardboard box (I dont' recall what it was) that had a top with two flaps: one with a tab, and one with a slot. But the problem was that the slot was aligned with the END of the tab...so even if the top opened perfectly, it was physically impossible for it to actually re-close.
