Only if you‘ve worked up to them, otherwise… ow? Or is this one of those „hurts so good“ things i don‘t understand?

Both of my TVs have Bluetooth to connect my phone to be able to use the TV's built-in speakers, but DON'T have the ability to watch TV and listen to it with Bluetooth head/earphones. Newer versions of both do have that function, but...still.
I love it when the span between the very early morning "your package is availble for pickup" and "your package is out for delivery" messages is, like, 17 minutes...just enough to get dressed and on the road most of the way there. Especially when you know you could have had it all day, but delivery to my home likely won't happen until 9:30pm.
Yeah... that seems to be a very personal thing with the actual delivery person. Some of them ignore the info provided altogether, others have their own thing (like our usual guy will just ditch the package in the blue bin if it's out, but that's not "official" or anything).I have in my overall package delivery info to just leave the box at my door. Its ignored half the time.
my experience with the DHL boxes has mostly been stellar, tbh. although...I (like most people I guess) only use it to send packages back and forth, and aside from opening times being shit and the lines being super long, they now have these big semi automated boxes where you can drop something off, scan a QR code and be on your merry way.
DHL do these now as well (or have been for two years?), but luckily I have yet to experience one. the one I use still has a QR code reader to log in, and a touchscreen and everything. I dread the moment they replace it with the bluetooth bullshit, because the app is weird... although maybe it'll just work? I dunno...Atleast thats what I assumed. Arrived there (on a deserted parking lot) to find it was one of the "new" post box thingies without a screen / keypad.
You need to activate these via the app.
The rush to make everything more convenient has really been inconvenient.
This. Someone at some corporate office decides : "make an app, it's what everyone is doing, so we need to also do this. Because then the young kids will use it and thats what we want".The rush to make everything more convenient has really been inconvenient.
in CORPORATE EVERYWHERE it very much seems to be THE THING. it's the dumbest trend I've ever seen... nobody wants MORE APPS... if anything, people want LESS apps cluttering up their phones. but no, providing certain information through a simple mobile website? pffff, gotta container that shit into a standalone app! added value or anything from that? NONE. who cares WE AHVE AN APP HURRRRR [insert meme with the sensible guy getting thrown out the window]Having an app for the sake of being able to say "we have an app" is not a thing.

The company my mother works part-time for have changed their fob-based clocking in/out system for an app based one, that she had to install on her personal phone. It uses location data and face recognition for something that worked perfectly fine just swiping a little fob, and it's unclear how that location data is used. It might not be reported outside of a geofenced area, I still wouldn't want it on my personal phone though.
These are all the things I thought of. My mother is close enough to retirement to not care about the timings and keeping the job, but the data is more of a concern and she really doesn't need that extra hassle. It's clear that the people in charge don't understand this system so it might go away by itself. Apparently it's this crap. They have this gem on the website:What happens if you were to forget the phone on the way into work, or dropped and broke the phone?
And that is the least of my worries. Who in the company has access to the location data? Will you be questioned for calling in sick when you went out to eat the night before? Even if the data was limited to what was happening on company property, are you showing enough loyalty to the company by arriving early enough? Spend to much time in the bathroom? It could get Orwellian fast.
