The fridge will cool it off for you.
And in the meantime, the heat from the pot of hot food will heat up everything in the fridge. Expensive lesson that it took me two pots of soup and many ruined groceries to learn. :lol:
What are dinner leftovers?
Not something we usually have too much of, but this was 1.5 lbs of chicken, 1.5 lbs of eggplant, , 1/2 lb of cauliflower, 2 onions, a turnip, 3 carrots, 4 stalks of celery, 2 bell peppers, 3 jalapeno pappers, 1/2 lb of mushrooms, 2 cups of broth, a can of coconut milk, and 3 cups (measured un-cooked) of rice (plus garlic, ginger, spices, etc)
The hilarious thing is that the cook book showed the recipe being made in, like, a 3-4qt saucepan, and barely filled it. We followed the exact recipe, used a 6qt pot, and it was filled to the absolute brim (even doming over slightly before it started to cook down). :lol: Not counting the liquid or the rice, it was already like 6lbs of ingredients.
