The "Things that annoy me" thread

Next time text me and we go to a bar instead.
It was a sunday morning, I was slightly hung over and my train was leaving around noon :p But I'll make a note of that.

So you could have gone to church :D
Free wine!

That's what you get when a show is produced to include longer ad-breaks than our socialist european laws allow!!! :shakefist:

To be fair, they could just deviate from their regular scheduling?
Linear TV is crap now, simple as that. If it isn't the breaks then it's the 'coming up next' or 'previously' segments that act as padding and are completely redundant, when the online equivalent has nothing of the sort.

ITV in this country just 'refreshed' their streaming service, taking the steaming subscription turd that was Britbox and cramming it in to normal catch-up to create ITV X, which is the worst of all worlds. When accessed through the cable set-top box, it new streams full independent ad breaks rather than just pre-recorded adverts. They're slow to load and the system gets confused (maybe deliberately so) if you try to fast-forward past the ads. It also forces sign up like iPlayer did, so you can access the paid services you don't want.

I just record stuff I might want to watch.

A teacher keeps calling him "Charlie Chapman", and he has the sort of nervous energy that makes him repeat things over and over, sometimes multiple times in succession.

Who was the smooth-brain who invented pots and pans with handles held on by a single screw?

Anyone else ever tried to upload HDR stuff to YouTube? Fuck me it's a minefield. It seems very picky on what it will accept and even if you have something that works, it may suddenly not work. You have no way of knowing if you did something wrong or if it's YouTube fucking it up.

I have 4 files that claim to have the same settings in terms of colour space and HDR data, only one is detected as HDR. I'd suggest avoiding it.

People that lack all sorts of timing skills when driving in roundabouts. Things like approaching way too carefully and having to brake to a stop for a car instead of slotting in ahead of it.

LTT has talked about their problems experimenting with 4K and HDR. If they have problems, it is going to be a headache for your a average peeps

The newer of my two test clips has now processed into HDR, maybe it just takes a long time.

HDR has been a bit of a minefield, I’m technically not using proper 10-bit HDR but still have to process it as if it is, or the colours don’t look right. The video will hopefully explain it when I can release the damn thing…

My Internets was spotty this morning and dropped out completely about 2:30 pm. I got it back about 10:30.

FedEx and their inability to deliver on time.

I'm waiting on 4 packages that were supposed to be delivered yesterday, then today before 2 pm and now "before end of day". I need these before I drive 14 hours to South Carolina. I needed them to be there today to get started and have plenty of time to get the job done and get back before next weekend. But here I am, sitting around waiting...

Edit: Finally arrived at 7pm. Guess we'll start early in the morning and head east.

UPS keeps leaving packages right smack dab in the center of our front white car-sized garage door, rather than on our porch/human door. If we parked in the garage, there'd be a good chance we'd open the door and back out over any packages that were left there. Fedex constantly misses their expected delivery windows, and UPS folded a piece of sheet metal, labeled on both sides with "DO NOT BEND", to fit into our mailbox.

Yeah, the overwhelming instinct to just finger a random screen was just an odd thing to witness, as was it's ubiquity in 3 separate meetings with three different people, and all with the same result.
