‘Boilerplate Doesn’t Cut It’: Judge Finds Donald Trump in Contempt of Court for Flouting an Order to Comply with Letitia James’ Subpoena

Former President Donald Trump is in civil contempt of court for flouting an order to comply with New York Attorney General Letitia James’s subpoena, a judge ruled on Monday. Trump must pay $10,000 a day until he has shown compliance with the judge’s order.

Due for some Trump Grand Jury action in NY at the weekend and Georgia on Monday.

“Furthermore, Mr. Trump’s personal affidavit is completely devoid of any useful detail,” Engoron wrote. “Notably, it fails to state where he kept his files, how his files were stored in the regular course of business, who had access to such files, what if any, the retention policy was for such files, and, importantly, where he believes such files are currently located. It similarly fails to state if he turned over his personal electronic devices for imaging and searching.”

Two stories just broke that, when viewed together, highlight a searing injustice involving the complete lack of accountability for Donald Trump's crimes. First, CNN reported that New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg is letting the NY grand jury expire this week without asking them to vote on a criminal indictment for Donald Trump. Then, the Daily Beast reported that Trump gave deposition testimony in 2021, testifying that he alone was responsible for the compensation of Matthew Calamari Sr., his Chief Operating Officer. Given that it appears Calamari received the same "fishy perks" (as the Daily Beast puts it) as Weisselberg, it seems Trump's testimony directly implicates him in the same tax fraud scheme for which Weisselberg ins indicted. This staggering revelation makes it all the more clear that DA Bragg's decision to kill the investigation into Trump's crimes is an inexcusable injustice.

Manhattan DA's Trump Org case is back on, sort of:

Manhattan DA Calls Ex-Trump Organization CFO’s Tax Fraud Charges Routine, Not Selective Prosecution

“The Indictment is based on criminal tax evasion that took place in New York County and is of the sort this Office regularly prosecutes. It arises from the fact that Allen Weisselberg violated the basic imperative that all New Yorkers faithfully report and pay tax on their income. While such self-reporting typically is verified by an employer’s tax reporting procedures, in this case, Defendants corrupted those procedures.”

In Major Defeat for John Durham, Jury Finds Lawyer with Hillary Clinton Ties Not Guilty of Lying to FBI

A one-count indictment filed Sept. 16, 2021, by Special Counsel John Durham accused Michael Sussmann of making “a materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statement or representation in a matter before the jurisdiction of the executive branch.”

The alleged lie, according to Durham, was that Sussmann claimed he was acting as a private citizen while giving a tip to the FBI about about Donald Trump. Durham’s team of prosecutors asserted that Sussmann was really acting on behalf of Hillary Clinton and a tech executive subsequently identified as Rodney Joffe.

It never feels like a win when reality finally catches up with people who move on to the next delusion. I'm sure they will call this trial tainted... how could anyone be able to do anything but acquit when Killary is on the loose!
