I decided to have a go at tooning. This is a VE Commodore, I left it completely stock, just coloured in

What kind of filters did you used to get the initial lineout? I'd like to know this tecnique, the overall "automodellista" effect is quite amazing.

Unfortunately, there is no quick filter to do it. I used a pen tool to outline each bit, then changed the pen thickness for different parts of the car (i.e. size 3 brush for outline, then 2 for larger details, then 1 for smaller details).

Using the pen tool means you can get curved lines and you can also use it in the next step of colour fill. So, you end up making lots of paths (around 200 in total) and layers (also around the 300 mark). :)

I'd get rid of the atenna.

Awesome work. I'd kill for a GT40 wallpaper like that.

Hmmm, I might have a crack at a GT40. I just need to find a suitable picture for it. Studio ones are better, as the reflections are usually a lot cleaner. I'll see what I can do.

Probably around three weeks, but I can't say for sure. I lost interest when I got to the wheels, and didn't touch the thing for ages.

I've found two suitable pics for the GT40, which one do you guys reckon?

This one is a bit harder, with all the detail.

Hmm, i tried a few but i forgot to add the border, no wonder mine aslways looked leaking out of the screen.

Whoa, you put a simple request up and moments later someone already started the project. Thanks a lot Magnet.

Hey Magnet,

Great job tooning that car! I'm very interested in how that was done. I wanna try my own hand at tooning some cars. The problem is, I have no idea how. Is there any good tutorial site that you might know of that teaches me how to toon a car? Thanks so much in advance! Cheers.

Kevin

Wow, thats a real good tut. Not only for the tooning but the few other effects like the lights and all really look cool

Slow work, seeing as I only work about 1 hour a day on it (if that).
