Christmas Special followed by new series?

Probably be scheduled in a few weeks.

The boys from Top Gear will be back, setting out on an extremely tough road-trip, travelling from Kathmandu in Nepal to the Forbidden City of Lo Manthang.

Top Gear sets out on perhaps its toughest road-trip ever: A high-altitude voyage from Kathmandu, capital of Nepal, to the Forbidden City of Lo Manthang, a secretive kingdom perched high on the Tibetan plateau, on the far side of the Himalayas. A five-day expedition through the highest mountains, deepest gorges and harshest terrain on the planet.

On their journey, the Top Gear presenters battle huge river crossings, vast mudslides, and dizzying mountain passes, on a trip that would test even the hardiest new 4x4s on the planet to the limit. But Paddy, Freddie and Chris aren’t crossing the Himalayas in new 4x4s. They’re crossing the Himalayas in a very small old Peugeot, a very small old Renault, and Nepal’s first (and only) home-built car…

Cue lots of gags about Freddie having a low man thang.

Top Gear Christmas special,
BBC2,

Will the Christmas special air in the US? I have not seen anything from BBC America or Motor Trend.

Paddy, Freddie and Chris find out which is the fastest of the emergency services: Fire, police or ambulance.
Chris celebrates legendary rally driver Colin McRae, while Paddy tests the new BMW M8.

Tom Allen is the studio guest.

Paddy McGuiness and Chris Harris haven't Been to Bed Since Top Gear Premiere

Paddy McGuiness crashes the taste test!

Almost another naked selfie.....

It might just be pre-emptiveness, but in spite of all the glowing reviews I've read and the heavy publicisation of the episode as the first special since the departure of CHM, the ratings appear to spiraling down again:

S27E01: 4.81 million
S27E03: 4.44 million
S27E05: 3.77 million
S28E00: 3.35 million

If it slips back under 3m then the show's fate is as good as sealed. Could be proven wrong though, but towards the end of CHM the specials would typically be the most viewed episodes, regularly reaching or surpassing 7 million. Not that I personally care, I just want to see how far the BBC can drag the mummified entrails of the long-dead horse before they finally lay it to rest. Also the upcoming hypercar vs. fighter jet race - totally haven't seen that one before.

i like chris and freddy, but i seriously dislike that paddy dude

Have you watched Phoenix Nights? That's a big part of Paddy's comedy roots. Possible S3 in future.
