Top Gear Special to be shown in High Definition

Which media player?
I have best results using CoreAVC as an External Filter in Media Player Classic.

Does anyone know how to get Media Player Classic to run on both cores?

Or if anyone can tell me a Matroska Hardware decoder, that would be much appreciated (I have an 8800 GTS so I don't know if that'd help)

Not sure about MPC, but supposedly CoreAVC Pro has multi-core support and they list GPU support as to be added at a later date.
My C2D 2.66 with an 8800 GTS 640MB seems to handle a 1080p h.264 sample video that I downloaded from Apple's website just fine at 1920x1080 with either CoreAVC 1.3 pro or ffdshow.

Try ffdshow for codecs. I'm still waiting for the TG download to complete but the Casino Royale sample played quite easily on my single core HT 3.0 Ghz (1 gb) Dell 4700.

Make sure you are using Media Player Classic, not Windows Media Player 11 (WMP 11). They are two different programs.

Navigate to C:\Program Files\Media Player Classic and you should see it there.
If you don't have it, go to post 84 by mike4192 and click on the link.

I'm still waiting for the 1080 to download but I just couldn't wait and watched the standard def version while working.

Simply... EPIC. I would pay to have seen this in a cinema. I can't wait to see it in 1080 (I still have 9 days to go estimated, is everybody having this slow of a go?).

Top Gear tapped the soul of man with this episode. Adventure. Challenge. Doing the impossible. Determination. And it gave us what we love about our cars -- man and machine in an adventure. Top Gear, even when it strays away from pure car reviews, is capable of the very special. If they are going to stray from a review format, I vote having adventures like this over pure cocking about.

The presenters, crew, and guides are to be commended for their adventure, truly risking their lives. All of them pushed beyond their limits and it shows... Sorry you couldn't finish Richard. The folks on the Avids deserve praise for their customary cinematic artistry and attention to detail. I say to hell with Michael Moore, this special should be Documentary of the Year!

How did they get back? Did they abandon the Toyota and get on a helicopter?

Man, I was really looking forward to watching the 1080p version on my 24" monitor but it refuses to play smoothly! :( I thought my PC could handle it, specs below:

3.2ghz P4, 2gb ram, Geforce 6800

Someone please tell me I'm doing something wrong!

Perfect for desktops and whatnot. :D

a guy named jabba (;-))is doing a 720p for hd***, you know the site you got it from ;-)

Does he still watermark all his videos across the top with that huge, distracting "RIPPED BY JABBA" tag? Fuck that guy.
