Topgear 700MB downloads is censored!

Has anybody noticed that whoever releases the 700MB versions of TG is censoring anything the guys say about Americans?

I watched episode 07x03 again, and noticed that the 700MB version had some errors in the sound when they stop in the French gorge on their trip down to the Milau bridge (F430, Ford GT, Zonda-F).

I tried the Vuk-ripped 350MB version, and wouldn't you know it, this sentence is cut out from the 700MB version:

"I'll bet this Ford is probably the worst handling car here. I concede that. No American that designed that chassis, is even half aware a road like this exist. If you brought an American here he would die." :yucky: :thumbsdown:
 
Seems fine on mine (the section in question is 0:54:29 - 0:54:41). :unsure:
I don't remember what version I got (probably mOOtv).
What version do you have?

Did you check your file with DivFix?
 
Hmm, I only thought that it was an error in the rip that caused it, I never thought that it was intentionally cut out. I'm still fairly sure it's just an accident as you can still make out what Jeremy was saying, the only part that was cut out was "is even half aware..." I would imagine that if it was intentional they would have cut out "If you brought an American here, he would die of shock."

Yah that's just an encoding error.
If they intentionally wanted to sensor something, I'm sure they would have cut out the more significant "this Ford is probably the worst handling car here". :p

Yeah, the European theory that all roads are straight is SERIOUSLY flawed. I live right near the rocky mountains in colorado and there isn't a straight among them. I have a hobby of finding the most twisty road I can and driving it in my RX7.

Not all, but the overwhelming majority of roads in the US are straight.
Yes there are areas where they are mostly twisty, or where you can find twisties, but for the most part, they're straight.
Plenty of twisties in my area though. :twisted:

BTW, I went on a Dragon knockoff "rally" in Wisconsin called "The Lizard".
Instead of 11 miles, it was more that 200 though. :)

The highways and city roads are straight, but that's just good road planning. Anywhere with hills you are sure to find some twisties. Why would you live anywhere that is flat anyway?
 
I think it's supposed to be a joke guys, don't get too upset. Besides, a majority of America is covered by highways and freeways, most of which are totally straight. Here in Vancouver for instance, even our (few) highways twist quite a bit.

But I think it just stems from the fact that most of the symbolic American cars like the muscle cars of the 60s and 70s couldn't really go around much.
 
when i think of roads in america the first thing that pops to mind is route 66, and ill bet im not the only one who thinks like that. and fact is route 66 is a very straight road.
but if you think of europian roads youve got the nurburgring, twisty roads around the french riviera, and the alps.
 
Straight roads are cheaper to build and it the Europeans had the room to do so they would built straight roads also. The problem is that in Europe there is not enough room for the straight road.
 
That's no excuse. Fact is they didn't have room so they built lots of glorious, narrow, twisty roads. As a driver, I don't think the economics of it matter much to you.

Besdies, like I said, Canadian roads aren't nearly as straight as American roads... and we have way more room and way less people.

Lol, I don't think anyone is getting upset, it's actually quite amusing to watch some people talk about the straight roads, because they have no idea, haha.

Little education never hurt anyone.

Its really a reflection on the horrible driving habits and focus on straight line performance of the american idiot.. I mean driver. Besides, how many twisty roads in the US are as well kept or heavily traveled as in the UK, or France, or Germany?

Most roads here are crumbly disaster compared to their EU counterpart... especially the ones with right turns as well as left. ;)

Oh and Zenkidori, its RX-7. There is no such thing as an RX7, my fellow rotary guy. Just like GTI.
 
I say thank God for straight roads. Otherwise it would take a lot longer to get across places you dont want to be, like Kansas. :D

wow, you really got me there, way to point out my mistake, I guess I don't know anything about my car, even though I was typing in shorthand :roll: Guess it's time to put away my streetported 13BT, forget about the GT35R and buy a Honda.

I don't know about lame California(CA sucks IMO), but our mountain roads are very well kept. More roads were even created or extended last year, and existing roads are resurfaced quite regularly. I saw a good amount of silky smooth roads in the northwest while I was there also. Being dragged all over LA for 2 weeks I saw some horrible roads. CA roads just suck in general.

Maybe its the american idiot/driver line? I'm talking about american idiot drivers... since I said american idiot ... drivers... as I feel most are with their SUV's and such.
