Okay until recently I have been using a USB ADSL modem which uses a dial up system to connect. But it does not work with Windows 7 as the drivers are too old so I got a D-Link 302g modem from one of my cousins. Works well.
But as soon as I let a torrent download it will get disconnected, after a while it reconnects then it again disconnects and it keeps on going like that. :(

Now I thought it was due to reaching max download speed or something but this only happens in torrents. I can download from any other program on max download speed without disconnecting. And I know my ISP does not restrict me from downloading torrents because by using the older modem on windows XP I can download torrents just fine.
I have no idea why this happens but there is one thing I haven't done in uTorrent which is Port Forwarding.

Now im new to this type of modem so i'm a noobie! I tried to follow directions givens in here but it does not work (Cant get the static IP address configured.)

So is there are any other reasons why my connection keeps disconnecting on torrents or is it port forwarding (Mind you I have no problem connecting to seeders for the brief period that the connection is connected) and are there any programs which does the job for free?
Thanks for the help!!! :D

Have yout tried setting max. simultaneous connections to a value around 100?

Set it even lower. The modem is hitting it's connection limit which makes other things not be able to connect.

Nope even 20 cant help it. I think its something else...

Edit - Even when uTorrent is just open my connection goes haywire (When not downloading or uploading)
