Pre 3 not yet available cheap. Rumours are it will happen after tomorrow's 10am gmt UK announcement. It will be a pre 3 in a bundle deal for 45 to 55 pounds and mostly online and cpwh.

I will try to get a few for interested final gear peoples.

I've been playing with mine and the only problem I have with it is that it will not let me log into two forums I like. I input my user name and pass then it takes me to the usual "thank you for logging in" page then it redirects me to the main forum page where I am not logged in.
Also I don't like the empty desktop, but that is minor compared to the forum issue.

I really hope it backfires on these assholes. And there's a good chance of that. If people thought the Touchpad was worth $300 and more they would have bought one months ago. The main (maybe the only) reason people want them now is the cheap price - $99. I certainly wouldn't pay more than $200 for a tablet, because I don't have that much use of it.

Granted, it is still cheaper than the iPad, but I doubt people would be buying a lot of Touchpads at the price they run on eBay now.

Why are these guys assholes? They are the ones diligent enough to scout out a huge supply and risk their money on selling them. It's not like they are hoarding vaccines or aid for starving children, just a crappy tablet that couldn't sell at 400 dollars but is a decent deal at 100 or even 150.

Because most of them will be committing fraud. Do you think the people who bought 50 and sold them for $100 or even bigger profit will declare that profit as income on their tax forms in February? I highly doubt they will...

You are just using the slippery slope method now. The examples you used get remuneration for a service provided and requested. With the people who buy in bulk and then resell -they don't provide any service. They would have, if HP had decided to get rid of its inventory through hidden method. But no - HP made the product available to everybody, and certain individuals decided to cheat the system and other people as well.

HP doesnt give a fuck who buys it or doesnt buy it. They just want to shed stock, so if resellers buy it, good, if consumers buy it, fine. Do you get mad at people who buy up limited edition cars and resell them for more than MSRP?

:p

Meh, it's not fair but not really illegal either. Plus, there's nothing you can do about it now. If HP wanted fairness, they wouldn't have allowed high number orders.

Besides the fact that I just want to punch you hard in the face right now:

There is a difference, at least in Germany, between money you earn as a private person (as well, there are limits on what you have to declare as tax and what you don't have to, like from what point on you have to declare your income, and I doubt a babysitter can make that much) and money a company earns, and selling 30 Touchpads you bought with the intent on reselling is not a private sale but a company like sale, and if you are not a company and don't declare it you are comitting tax fraud, as easy as that. And I think that at least in Germany, these people will get partly busted, because annoyed people who didn't get Touchpads because of them are snitching them out to the tax offices, which is a good thing.

Let's go internet tough man, I can tell you are full of toughness and badassitude by the way you type so fervently.

Just admit that a bunch of knuckledraggers outwitted you and got ahold of a shitload of Touchpads. I kinda want one, but I'm not motivated enough to stake out Best Buy/Office Max/big box retailer just to save 50 dollars, so more power to the guy willing to pounce on the rumors of Touchpad stock.

hp touchpad 16 GB inventory checker for Best Buy: http://slickdeals.net/?&u2=http://w...contract_desc=2+YEARS+NEW&pageMode=searchmode

32 GB: http://slickdeals.net/?&u2=http://w...contract_desc=2+YEARS+NEW&pageMode=searchmode

At this rate, I'm thinking the best bet would be to use HP directly. Sure you'll be essentially chained to your computer, but hey, if it's worth it...:p

Last time I checked one of my local in the sticks Walmarts had one 32gb models left and big signs saying they had none in stock. You are 4 hours away from me I'm sure we can work something out. PM me if you are interested.

Nothing to do with outwitted, outwitted would be if I actually needed that thing and had to buy it from them. And, unlike you, I am not lazy enough just to throw money away I could use otherwise. But I guess you earn enough from all these single 60+ ladies.

BTW: HP changed from "coming soon" to "out of stock"

as well:

http://www.gearfuse.com/hp-touchpad-android-project-suffers-a-serious-setback/

Apparently, one of the key members of the group ?misrepresented? himself, and stole a large portion of the donations that were meant to fund the project. As a result, the group has now split.

Before leaving, the rogue member deleted the TouchDroid Twitter account, and used donation money to start flipping HP Touchpads at a higher price.

and

If you happen across one, i'd happily take it off your hands :-D (that goes for anyone else). I'll pay a reasonable finder's fee + shipping.
