Another fatality on the Metra UP Northwest line. Right by me too. Somebody crossed the tracks, and was creamed. My bet since this wasn't near a station or typical areas for pedestrians to cross, it was a suicide. It's sadly pretty common. This happened around 5PM with an inbound to Chicago train. I drive by from my parents house around 1/4 to 8PM and the emergency services and train was still there with passengers still inside.

A while back I went on a train video binge on Youtube. This one channel specialized in filming trians in the PA/OH area and uploaded this section of track


Did the new owners of the Maumee & Western really fix all that? I heard it was planned back in like 2014 but, I haven't been able to find photographic proof.
