what does all the transmissions stand for
like AT i know but what about
C4
CAT
CA
F4
FA
FAT
F5
FA
MT4 (i think is manual transmission 4)

I'm only guessing, but perhaps C is column-shift & F is floor-shift, so you'd have:

C4 - 4 speed column-shift
CAT - column-shift auto transmission
CA - column-shift auto
F4 - 4 speed floor-shift
FA - automatic floor-shift
FAT - floor-shift auto transmission
F5 - 5 speed floor-shift
FA - automatic floor-shift

????

sorry for putting FA down twice but u put FA and FAT as basically the same thing, now what is the difference between column shift and floor shift? i thought there was only manual and automatic, no variations

Column-shift has the gear-stick / shifter on the steering column, floor-shift has it mounted in between the seats on the floor.

well first off i have no clue about autos but i know 240s making huge power use c4 transmissions. they are ford transmissions used on the mustang that arent the best stock but can be easily built to handle insane amounts of torque.
