Do it for me.
Alright, as promised, here's the trip to BMW. Sorry about the delay.

Only a bunch of the cars are on display, in a temporary building near the Munich Olympic park, until the (massive) new gallery is finished.

What is that #38 car?

What, no M635CSi?

Love the 850, and it's always nice to be reminded of BMW's humble beginnings. The bikes are really cool as well.

seems like they actually put a lot of stuff in the temporary building... looks like maybe I should go check it out...

the old museum was really a total disappointment, not many of the real classics or race cars to look at... just a bunch of displays about all the wonderful road-safety projects and hydrogen cars...

it used to be in that thing that looks like a big soup bowl in the second picture, and the gift shop took up like 10% of the total area...

those are some nice pictures, goodwork. i wish i had a cool place to visit like that  but man i love that 8-series. it just grew on me

Do you guys know the story behind this one?

It?s the second time BMW tries to re-build a classic car with original, NEW parts they still have available. They did it before with this one:

2002 tii

The thing that is amazing is: BMW still is able to deliver NEW, UNUSED parts for those old cars, enough to rebuild a whole new car. I think that?s just amazing.

merc's suposed to be the champion in stocking parts for their old cars

i heard you can order ANYTHING they ever build, they still have it on stock
it'll cost you an arm and a leg though

The one in the picture is basically an M8 as well..... CSI <3

I have a thing for architecture as well as cars and I must say those are some impressive buildings. Very nice.

A little info on the architecture: The main BMW building (the one that looks like 4 cylinders put together) was build "the wrong way round". This means that all the floors have been build on the ground level and than got liftet (the top floor has been built first). So the building grew floor by floor.

THats true. You can get just about anything for just about any year mercedes as long as you have the money. MB does a great job of supporting their out of production vehicles.

RE: Building.

Neat architecture triva thank you.
