i read that cenotaph story a few days ago. i think the issue there was the wowsers (those non-automotive people who complain about everything top gear does).

cars drive past that cenotaph every day. how is this different?

The council say now that they wouldn't have given permission to do anything other than drive down that street, but i find that highly unlikely. i'm sure they never even considered it a problem until the media started calling.
It was different because they were not just driving past, they were doing donuts. Considered disrespectful at a war monument. And I agree with that.

The Women's memorial was a bigger problem than the Cenotaph, in that they were a helluva lot closer too it.

Could file the whole thing under Idiots Abroad.

You are probably right, but I am not familiar with the area.

Matt LeBlanc almost caused a bad start to the new season of Top Gear when the former Friends star narrowly avoided running over a cameraman. The new host reportedly needed to take a few hours off afterward to get his head together, according to The Mirror.

An unnamed Top Gear insider tells the British tabloid that the near tragedy happened while filming in South Africa last month. During a break in the action, LeBlanc decided to take a drive in a Porsche that the show was reviewing. What he didn't realize was that a cameraman was laying on the ground getting shooting different angles on the sports car. Another cameraman saw what was happening and got LeBlanc's attention to avert the crisis. "It was one of those instances where, if the tracking man and Matt had reacted even a few seconds later, it could have been really serious. Both of them appreciated what a lucky escape it was," the source told The Mirror.

While everyone was okay, the incident reportedly left LeBlanc upset. He needed to take a few hours off to regain his composure and checked to make sure the cameraman wasn't injured.

ON TOPIC: Top Gear requires an enormous amount of coordination to get right, so it won't be the first or last time someone nearly gets murdered.
I don't want anyone to get murdered, btw.

Many motor production crews always have someone watching out for the cameraman, to save they from getting hit.

Several UK tabloids (no, I'm not providing links/clickbait) are claiming that:

1. Evans and Le Blanc don't get on. Zero chemistry between the two.
2. Evans blames Le Blanc for the furore about doughnuts by the Cenotaph.
3. In spite of the PR at the time Le Blanc was foisted on the team by BBC bosses desperate to appeal to US viewers and that Evans had nothing to do with his appointment.

Adam and Jamie from myth busters hated each other and how many years did that show go?

Just saying.

Now that is something I've never heard before. Where did you get that from?

Yeah but that doesn't say they hated each other. I've had excellent working relationships with people over the years without ever feeling the urge or the need to socialise with them.

It's clear from the show they are very different personality types but that's part of the appeal, the contrast between their styles, reactions and so on. If they've worked together for 25 years, way longer than the show was running, then that's a mark of their professionalism and just because they don't go for beers after work doesn't mean they don't like each other. There is certainly respect there for sure.

Maybe you would have just had to read the stories over the years. Definitely seem way more than they didn't socialize out side the office. Of course it was sugar coated when they were asked about it personally.
