Here it is, the fastest and loudest TVR ever... The Typhon is TVR's latest creation. The Typhon has its name from a mythical creature(Typhon), who was the king of all monsters an terrified people to death...

The typhon shares the Tuscan's tubular space frame allthough reinforced with aluminium honeycombe and clad with a beautyfully sculptured carbonfiber body. The front has been aerodynamically optimized with its slippery lines and dramatic swoops of the bonnet

This car is mostly the work of the aerodynamicist, as the profile shows pretty good. What it also reveales is the clean lines with no doorhandles. TVR chairman Peter Wheeler thought that doorhandles where ugly, so there is a button under the mirror that when pressed the door opens. Also a clean line will be more aerodynamical.

The interior of the T440R/Typhon is something unique. With an attention to details thats only seen in a modern days arts museum. It doesent have dials and switches, but small toys, like those brass and aluminium nobs and the handstiched leather combined with exposed carbonfiber. All in all you can say that the interior reflects its racincar underpinnings with a distinct minimalist style.

The rear end also reflects the attention to aerodynamics with the rear diffuser and the way the roof ends down to the back of the car. The arrangement of the rear lights may look like a mess, but it is actually a certain pattern in it. The part with the exhaust outlets is promised tied up a little for the production model.

The engine kind of makes this car. It's a tweaked version of the one you will find in the Tuscan, the same racingbreed straight six, named Speed Six oer AJP6. It has DOHC and drysump lubrication. Its a monster of a Straight six...

What do you think about this car? Nothing looks quite like it, eccept other TVRs. I'm sorry i didn't get any pics of the engine though.... Speaking of engine and more specifically engine noise, I have a video of a road and track test of a pre production T440R, done by ex racingdriver Martin Brundle. Check out this video... (Rightclick, save target as... (26mb)

You can find more pictures of it here and here...

Wow, visilbity seems really crappy on this car especially with this much power. I'll stick with the Sagaris.

I like, if i had the money it would definatly be in my collection of cars.

Faster than a Speed 12?
No, not really... The Speed 12 was a 100 kg (200lbs) lighter and had much, much more hp and torque... (It had two speed Sixes joined together as a 7,7 litre V12, it broke the dyno when it measured 940 hp @ 6000 rpm so it had more to go...

Is it me or it just looks like a Tuscan R?

The Tuscan R and T400R is exactly the same car, the T440R has a bit more hp (440) while the Typhon is supercharged, with 580 hp... The all look exactly the same... Yes...

Ja, det skal jeg si meg enig i, godt jeg ikke er alene (NB! Det er framdrift p? 928 fronten...)...

For those who don't understood a shit of that... Forget it, it's irrelevant for this thread's topic...

Argh...
Those cars go like Stink, no doubt... I just completly dislike the styling

Buba

And its cheaper then the Ford GT and most Ferrari's while being faster then most Ferrari's and faster then the Ford GT.

The TVR Typhon is my dream car and I am looking forward to them testing it out on Top Gear when they allowed to test one.

More bhp per tonne than a Ferrari Enzo!

No matter how well the TVRs perform I simply can't stand them. They are just so damn ugly!!!
I don't "get" their design choices at all...
I'd rather buy a used Aston Martin or Ferrari or almost anything else if I could afford it...
