Includes videos. I want one of these bad boys, you can buy them either pre built or in kit form. These are true road legal racing cars! Some impressive specs:

0-60mph = 2.7secs
0-100mph = 5.5secs
0-150mph = 11.8secs
30-70mph = 2.0secs
0-100mph-0 = 10.3secs
100mph-0 Braking = 3.9secs
Speed Achieved = 204mph on the Bruntingthorpe straight
Top Speed = 231mph est. (gearing limited)
Standing ? mile = 10.5secs @ 140mph terminal *
Engine = Chevrolet V8 377cu in
Power = 641bhp
Torque = 545ft/lbs
Transmission = Porsche G50

Mmmm :)

Nice car, the Ultima, but they didn't actually get recorded as the fastest because it's a kit car, not a production car, and the Koenenegsegeg (or whatever it is) has beat their time already.

Just for the sake of comparison, here are the official track records of my AC Cobra (using racing tires):

0-60 mph = 2.1 seconds
0-100 mph = 4.8 seconds
0-100-0 mph = 10.7 seconds
Top speed (unknown, I'm not that crazy)
Standing quarter mile = 8.9 seconds @ 152 mph
Engine = Ford 427 modified by Shelby American
Power/torque = 685 bhp / 590 ft lbs
Highest speed achieved from standing start, burning the tires, before the tires finally catch = about 110 mph.

The Cobra's biggest problem at higher speeds is bad aerodynamics. The big mouth in front is like a parachute. I'm also a bit afraid of going faster than 150 because it might leave the ground or something.

Man that can't be true, 2.1 seconds! Those are spaceshuttlenumbers, is that actually YOUR car that can these times??!?!

:shock: Shocked :shock:

Didn't know that car was that fast

^ Well, the car has 685HP and it most likely weighs around 2000lbs.

They are absolutely insane cars. :twisted:

I can do 2.1 consistently, over and over again. It's not the easiest thing on the car or my nervous system, but it gets a lot of attention. Also, I've had to rebuild transmission twice. (The car only has about 8000 miles on it.) It's also on its third clutch. With regular street tires it's closer to 3 seconds with a great deal of smoke and noise. :)

I'm not sure the out-of-the-factory Cobra is as fast as mine. This one was wrecked and restored, and during the restoration process we cut out a lot of weight by using modern materials to replace broken original components. Some of the broken frame and body pieces are Chromoly, fiberglass or thin-gauge aluminum instead of the original steel and thick aluminum. We used ceramic disc brakes. etc.

That might explain it, you own all those caterhams and donkervoorts man.
You race with your car on tracks? Or trafficlightdragraces?

You have some pics to share with us? :D

I don't do any real racing, just the Saturday Morning drags down at a local raceway when they open it up to the public. A lot faster cars show up to those drags than mine.

I'll have to gather some of my digital photos and capture some videos taken by my son (12 yo) and put them somewhere in a different thread.

Sounds interesting...

Looking forward to the vids :D

how could there possibly be a lot faster cars than that? 8.9 sec quarter mile is quite an achievement....

For a car you can drive on the street, it really is. But there are quite a few 8 second cars that show up to every race night, and a few 6 and 7 second cars with big blowers, oversized rear wheels and special fuels. I don't think they would work so well on the street.

Oh well you're right, but then again, I don't care about those dragsters than can do nothing but the quarter mile....
A Mclaren F-1 can do 11.5 sec quarter mile, that should pretty much do it for me :)

I don't think any Carrera GT, Enzo or Zonda owner cares what their cars will do in a quarter mile.

I saw the utima stand when I was at the national kit car show last year, really nicely built and so small, they had a video of it breaking some hill climb record seriously fast stuff!!!

What size tires do you have on the rear of your baby kanderson??? 2.1 sec!!! I bet the steering feels a little vauge at thoose speeds, seriously nice machine though, any pics of the rebuild??

Ruu

how cool must it be to look thru the window and see a car like that on your driveway

i also want one

not necessary a cobra, but an old car, they look so awesome!

My lancer only goes 14 kph faster than 100mph so I'm guessing it takes a while to get to 100mph haha...

Slowing down from that as fast as possible would be scarier than shit...
