I was looking for a ultracompact digital camera. Some of my choices were the Canon SD450 and some of the random pentax's and casio's. I have an Canon S110 right now and DEFINITELY NEED to upgrade. Anyone else have any recommendations??? I would like the price to be around 300 or so, obviously the less the better.

i own a sd400 and i love it. it's got a great many functions.

I've got a Casio Exilim EX-S100. It really is amazingly compact, mine has 3.2 MP but it's now available with 5 MP. Can't say much about the features though, as I'm not an expert photographer by any means.

In case you're interested, here are two (amateur) shots I took with my camera:

EDIT: There you go Buba. But to be honest, I don't know what should happen if I had left the plate in the pic. Do you think somebody with a hookup at the DMV or police will look me up, come here and steal the car?
Just to clarify (once again), it's not my car. At least not on paper, but I'm the one who drives it most of the time. :)

I love the Exilims! Aren't they even availible up to 7,2 MP? But then they are small and not "ultracompact" as requested...
The old model seems to soften images in dim light, but its so small, inexpensive and robust, that I still would strongly recommend it!

@oliB: Now that I know your Numberplate, I can have my Police buddy check you out! ;-) Hehehe... No, seriously, I'd remove the picture, even though we're one big happy family. I never realised your R32 is completly black... Looks more like very dark blue in your Avatar... Nice... I want one!

I just bought the Canon Ixus i zoom i december and I just love it, only problem is that it's soo small that I can't find a good case/bag- thingy for it so I still have it in the bubble wrap

I don't know if they're now available with 7.2 MP, maybe they are. But then again I'm not at all up to date with this camera stuff.

So ultracompact doesn't actually mean super small and my Exilim is too small?? What a stupid name for those cameras then.

No, there are different Exilims. The S models are the supersmall ones up to 6 MP. The Zoom models are a bit bigger, but mostly thicker but 7.2 MP...
And there are also Exilim Pro models...

I love the coupling shot program on the exilims...

well i've brought the list down to the Sony DSC-T9, Canon SD450, Casio EXZ750 or EX-S500, or Panasonic Limux FX9K anyone have these and wanna share ur experience???

SD400 -> almost like the 450 only you have a bigger LCD. I love it. Great for just taking out of your pocket and snapping at whatever th ehell you want. Great lens, great digi processing, great colors. Need a tripod for night photos unless your hands are not shakey. Also a warning from my previous research: the lcd MIGHT crack if you sit on your camera by accident and that canon will not warranty that.

yeah i'm leaning towards canon right now, but some of the casio's look pretty good, anymore recommendations, doesn't HAVE to be ultracompact, just small.
