Unable to connect to tracker?

No, if you can visit http://tracker.finalgear.com:6969/ in your browser but your BT client is throwing an error, than use a newer client. BitTorrnado is quite old, is it not?

I can't visit that site. And also I am using uTorrent. I tried both clients to make sure that neither worked.

If I can't visit it, does it mean that port 6969 could be blocked by my ISP?

If you can't visit it, then it's not your BT client(s).

Start -> Run -> cmd -> ping tracker.finalgear.com

The pings will fail, but is it able to find the URL? This should be returned when you run the above command: "Pinging bigfoot1942.sektori.org [85.145.110.29] with 32 bytes of data:"

Hmm, so it is resolving like it should. Weird.

So there is really no explanation as to why "The target machine is actively refusing the connection" ?

I tried my laptop and I get the same thing so it is either my router or ISP.

Take your laptop to a friends house to try maybe?

Problem with torrent download

Problem with torrent download

I tried pinging the tracker and this is what i got:

Pinging bigfoot1942.weedns.com [85.145.110.29] with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.
Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 85.145.110.29:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

So what's my problem?

The box won't respond pings, but it's good that it does indeed resolve to the right IP for you.

Does visiting http://tracker.finalgear.com:6969/ in your browser result in anything?

What kind of error message do you get?

Well I tried from a friends computer (on the same ISP) and no luck. I guess this means that my ISP is blocking the port?

But I still don't understand the error message:
"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it"

Can anyone help me? I'm desperate to watch these three new episodes!

you should be able to download the episode anyway because the torrent automatically uses the backup tracker if it cant connect to the main tracker...

It cycles through all of the trackers and gives the same message. (I promise I am not a complete n00b)

Your ISP must block port 6969.

Does DHT work?

i also configured port 80 for use with the tracker, so Rwalker if you change one of the used trackers addresses to http://bigfoot1942.sektori.org (so delete the :6969 part) it should work, since blocking of port 80 is impossible by any ISP.

Viper, you shouldnt start using port 80 though, its a software portmap and i dont think it can handle as much peers as port 6969 does.

Thank you very much, bigfoot. The torrent is now working :)

You can try opening up a 6xxx port instead of 80 though, because all of the other torrents I use have other 6xxx ports and they work fine. 6882 or something should be fine.

its not a portmap specially for you:
i want to be able to visit my tracker's page from behind the firewall at my work ;)
