UNLOCK car via phone call

SiR_dude said:
You could make something that would do that if you really wanted
But why would you really want to ? it's a pain: you'd need a cellphone, and it's extraordinarily hard, because you'd also need a password, so no weirdo can just unlock it (that's all we need, our cars being hacked too) and it also goes into your cellular phone bill.

You might no be able to open a car with your mobile but my mate can lock the brakes, turn the fuel pump off and flash all the lights on and off on his bike with his phone if its stolen. :p

That's great. But your new avatar is way too big to 56k'ers. 454kB? :?

Do you remember the TG episode where JC prooves that his remote works better when you point it to your head? Well, my brother tested that at engineering school and it didn't work. :x

Well, it works for me. It already did before seeing that episode, so no news for me, there.

maybe it works only with Mercedes keys? Do you guys drive Mercs?

It doesn't matter which key it is. The point is to use your head as an antenna...

I don't think it's your head specifically, more your whole nervous system, but yeah. I use it all the time to boost the pathetic range of my key. Safety feature my ass, they just skimped on the transmitters.

It didn't work with our xA. Oh well.

Although, we had to replace one of the fobs because it wasn't working, and the new one has a much longer range than the original.

I can't get the trick to work...so all you do is point the key to your head right?

When you say point, does that mean that the remote doesn't touch your head? Cause then you're doing it wrong, the remote is supposed to be in contact with your head when you push the button.
