Well you aren't a specialist on irony either are you? ;)
I found out, that some people just don't get it... literature might help in that case, but some people are just too stupid afterall. :D

^ It's not about being stupid, or not picking up on irony - I think a comment like that goes beyond those things and becomes a pure insult (and not only that an insult on the guy's Dad, not the guy himself), and that's why it would deserve the neg reps.

Just because it's someone's dad, it doesn't make me think any less of him for trying to compensate like that. And no, i wouldn't, just like nobody here would. But i have my own opinion and it's easier to express it on the internet. If his dad posted it, i'd say it as well. But not to his face. But that's only cause i prefer my face in the shape it is. :p

But it won't stop me from making an opinion. :p

EDIT: let me make this a bit more clear. It's a pretty widespread opinion that people who own Hummers are compensating for something. But then what happens when someone on this forum gets a Hummer? Does everybody change their opinion, just because they don't want to hurt that person's feelings?

^ Sure, you're entitled to your opinion (as baseless as it may be), that doesn't mean you should disrespect someone by voicing that opinion anonymously on the internet, especially so when it's directed at other FG members or their families.

I know others do it, that doesn't make it right. If you wouldn't say it to someone's face, perhaps it should remain unsaid.

But hey, maybe like jayhawk, I'm just old fashioned...

This image sums it up rather nicely..

It's easy to go online and spout rubbish, cos it seems disconnected from reality. People treat the internet like an online pissing contest, forgetting it's real people and they're actually being disrespectful.

+1
Apparently everyone else's opinion is that your comment was ridiculous, so I guess it all works out. You get to speak your mind, the community gets to reply with theirs. The truck isn't even that big. I was expecting to click the thread and see a huge dually.

omg, another neg rate. this time by some newbie with not enough rep to make a difference.

</care>

EDIT: And don't you just love how almost everybody giving you pos. reps signs them, like "hey, i gave you a pos. rep. i'm cool 8)" but NOBODY giving neg. reps signs them? How pathetic...

Oh for the love of God, can we close this thread already?

I didn't realize the rep system would be accompanied by a thread where we could all come to complain aboot every little neg rep. In the long run one or two negs make no difference.

System is staying. Quit whining. Quit making bad posts. Bug Quiky if you think someone is abusing it.

If you have a legit complaint, then send me a PM. But if you waste my time bitching over something you clearly deserve, that negative rep will become DOUBLE the value (-8 becomes -16). Just so I don't have whiny people sending me messages all the time...
