Well, I might just c/p what I wrote in a mail to her here..
"In your article "Learn your lesson, Hamster", I find you to come with some very, in fact, sexist remarks. You actually make a point in saying that men are more foolish than women. Not only that, you are sexist when you act as an representative for all women, as would I if I claimed that all men love pornography and all men thinks driving fast is really fun, you have no right to act on behalf of all women.
I am a person who likes to, what would you say, stamp on the accelerator occationally. This means accelerating on a long straight piece of road, not driving at 70mph through a village or areas of population. You say, and I quote, "..What drives me mad is that it always works, in that other men are inevitably impressed..", which frankly, I find quite offending. I am a person who normally will tell stupid fools who drive irresponsible that they are idiots, that they should take some time to think about what they are doing. So are many other young men. And many older men. At the same time, there are many women who drive like deranged morons, which I am sure you know.
If you watch Top Gear, you will see that they do their testing under very strict supervision. If you watched the episode where they made the amphebious cars, you see Hammond jumping on the "Toybota", but you don't see the water absorbing mats in his van, or the vast number of safety boats following the cars. Neither, have you heard the producers go "are you sure?", "are you really sure?" and "do you really want to go through with this?" before Hammond jumped into the rocket car.
Some speculate that the rocket car stunt was done because the producers wished more viewers, which is like saying that Saddam Hussein let people out of his prisons to get higher numbers in the election.
Top Gear is the most viewed car programme in the world, Saddam got 100 percent of the votes and the producers were the ones holding back, and the claim is really stupid when you take the programes vast number of viewers into consideration.
I would say that it is a good way of showing respect to Hammond to cancel the programme while waiting for his recovery.
When, however, some people who have wished the programme canceled - I am not claiming that you wish that sort of thing, you have stated you watch it yourself - for years, try to use this tragic event to get their egoistic views through, I find that strongly offensive, and I really think some people need a lesson in how to behave themselves."
And yes, I find it sexist. Women can be sexist too. All the time. Why do we let them?
Edit: Err, and as I am Norwegian, my English is not perfect, so please be understanding.
