Veyron beat 400 km/hour

Nah they just let it slow down with engine braking.... or maybe parchutes haha.

Front facing retro rockets would also be fun.

over 400 km/h .... what about acceleration ? and I don't like the fact that this (re-done and late shame of a supercar) beat the better looking ccr :x

the VW test circuit is a straight line while the CCR made his record on an oval in nardo. so if you compare the McLaren F1s runs on nardo (372 i think) and on the VW track (388km/h), the CCR could probably go over 400km/h in a straight line. and dont worry for the ccr it will probably eat the veyron on the track becuse of the better power to weight ratio.

just for the lazy people 400kph is 248.56mph

Not fan of the Veyron, that may change when top gear gets their hands on it ;)

how does VOlkswagen have such a long test circuit, do you know how long it is?

Don't think the difference is that big. Read somewhere it would be around 12kph. And the cars weren't the same on Nardo and the VW straight.

At 12kph, that circuit is really moving

I do believe you meant "km"

I meant kph = km/h

It was the difference in speeds between straight line and nardo ring.

I think the Veyron looks fantastic. VW's attendance in the making of this car results in better (more complete) looking and feeling car. The very same thing happened with Lambo and Audi. Oh... and it has a name too.... QUALITY.

I don't so much care about the futile differences in performance. (To some people they seem to mean everything) I'd just like to see them sold and driven. (by JC maybe) :)

JC said that there's no way he's gonna test a 1000bhp car that has brakes fixed at the last minute.

no way! it can't stop!

I wonder if Top Gear will even get their hands on one. There's even less of these being made than the Enzo's, right? Bugatti might not go handing them around to journalists.

Maserati gave an MC12 for a french show called "turbo".
this one is less produced than the ENZO
If the bugatti is out, they will test it :)

Oops..I thought he meant the difference in length of the track, but he was talking difference in speed

I wonder if they did fix the brakes and steering problems yet

Do you really believe this joke JC made for the sake of entertainment?

For instance, the brakes of the Veyron are phenomonal!
They can decelerate the car from 400 km/h to 0 in less than 10 seconds!
(read it in a special about the Veyron in the "auto motor und sport")

The brakes are probably much better those on the Koenigsegg! Btw, I'm saying this even though I'm a fan of the Koenigsegg...

0-300 km/h (180mph) in less than 17 seconds, good enough? :p
