VIP Section?

Hi, I am a member of quite a few other forums and on most of them they have a VIP section in which a member can either be promoted via donating a set amount say "20$" or through good posting and helping beginners I think this would be an excellent idea here, as maybe some people want to share videos to some other but not the whole forum. It develops trust also in the other VIP member, just a suggestion. If you want to put it into action let me know and ill tell you the mod etc to download so that you can setup other ranks and forum permissions :)
 
The forum is mainly for discussion, so I don't really see the point there. Plus someone has to do the "promotions".

Sounds too elitistic imho. One step closer to JW :thumbsdown:

Why? are some people better that other?

And...

1) it would lead to more work for Viper, Ren and the mods. They do a great job now and don't need to work harder for something like this.

2) promotion via donating money, maybe one of the most stupid ideas considering the C&D from the BBC.

3) it would only lead to sucking up to the vip's to get in.
 
OK, well maybe in this case it wouldnt work but I was thinking for like a VIP FTP etc... :) but only a suggestion remember and no need to put suggestions down ;)

what did you mean by:

Well, we had a private ftp here, where owner would pick members himself, but that is a bit different really. It's totally up to the owner of FTP, and not Viper or other forum moderators.

EDIT: ah, you got the link for C&D already
