Virus problem

OK, my mom had a prob on my comp today...she was checking her email (she gets loads of spam...) and she was about to delete yet another porn message when all of a sudden her inbox disappeared....all the messages gone. She tried to find them but couldn't. I've noticed that all of a sudden I have 10 items in quarantine with my Symantec Virus prog...8 of them today...somehow, I think she got a virus in the inbox, and symantec quarantined all the messages...but I'm not sure. Two of the items in quarantine are called "Inbox.dbt". Does anyone know how I might be able to retrieve her messages? It's rather critical....

Out of curoisty...do u have hotmail account (i mean ur moms) cuz if so i think i might know whats the problem is

No, accout is from ISP...not a freebie. And what do you mean with NAV?? Symantec won't clean the files....can't....please help

NAV = Norton AntiVirus
but i have no idea...

Well, if Symantec has identified which virus it is, you can see if Symantec has a stand alone remover.

EDIT: This virus from the "Latest Threats" link looks like a good canidate:

Try to find out what it is. Pandasoftware.com has a free online virus scanner, try it if NAV can't figure out what it is.
