Virus that makes you shut down your computer within 2 mins

hey guys sup? i am at my cousins house right now using someones wireless to get on to here. the problem is that he has that virus that says the computer is gonna shut down in 2 mins and u can do anything about it. i've reformated his machine and its still there. is that menna happen?? i am going to try reformat again and see what happens.


will be great help if someone can reply soon so i can help him out.
 
Try Start > Run > Shutdown -a .This will stop the shutdown process, BUT the Virus will still be on your Computer
@Daniel Your Computer is most likely infected with MSblast. Update your Computer with Windows Auto Update and run the Stinger Virus removal tool http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/

And this is not a virus since you've formatted and still got it, it's a vulnerability in Windows XP specifically and it's exploited by a lot of viruses out there so as soon as you get online there is usually some infected machine scanning ips for the vulnerability
It's fixed by applying sp2. Make sure you have sp2 for xp available and apply it before ever using the pc to get online, ur problem will be solved :)
 
It's a trojan (and not the condom kind). You need to be off the internet until you install some sort of A/V software and the MSBlast patch.
 
most likely MS Blast yeah .... had it on my pc up until a week ago ...
