Wank to Argatoga's MG

Mufflers. I'm planning on putting a Racing Beat pre silencer on my car. Unfortunately their mufflers too tall (6"). Does anyone know of a shorter one I could fit. The piping is 2.5".

RB mufflers sound like shit anyways, no big loss.

Try Borla, Corsa, Rotaflo (rotaflo is the shit), or maybe Magnaflow. You want an inline, straight through muffler, not the baffled kind like RB. Rotaflo are really the best, but they are pretty expensive.

Bay ready for prepping. Unfortunately the guy swapping my engine is under the weather at the moment. So things have been delayed a bit.

I will be using the stock headers (with some minor modifications). I'll see if I can get a shot of the bay once it has been repainted and modified.

Here is what I have thus far.

Get one of these MS ECUs. It will plug into the factory harness so I shouldn't need to change any of the wiring.

Get a new Weber style upper intake:

And since I will be ditching my air intake I will need a MAP sensor which I can connect to a vacuum port on my intake manifold (I'll assume it has one for the brake booster which my car doesn't have).

So that is about $1000.

What GM MAP sensor do I need? Do I buy an air filter based on the bore size given?

For the MAP sensor can I just use the wiring from the removed MAF sensor to keep the OEM ECU connector the same (obviously I would wire the MS ECU to connect said connector to MAP circuitry)?

I would use the MAP sensor off something like a last-gen RWD Caprice.

You buy an air filter based on the outer diameter of your throttle body/bodies.

And yes, you can recycle the wiring.

Does diyautotunes provide maps? I see software, but no maps on their website.

Most people get their maps from the MS forums or from others who have already done it to their similar cars. You can also set up a basic map automatically and then tune from there.

You will need a wideband O2 sensor, though.

Nope, should be it for major components and your budget looks realistic. For comparison, we didn't have to buy a manifold or new throttle body for the Jag MS project, but we did have to come up with a CPS sensor and wheel and we did go with EDIS to convert our ignition as well, and IIRC we still haven't gone over $1000.

lol, midget ftw. when I was 16, me and my buddy split that $200 price tag between us and got this yellow monster :D

brings back memories. We bought that 944 a week later and totaled it soon after :D

Now that I have an idea of what I need I'll shoot an e-mail off to diy.

I do like the control the MS offers. Being able to set the fuel cut off at 4000rpm will help with the brake in.

The tunability is great but the diagnostic capability as well as the ability to use commodity parts is even better, IMHO.

GSXR1000 throttlebodies are cheap. Other seems to have had success using these. I'd need to have a manifold costume made though. May still be cheaper.

What kind of manifold design is it? Would it be excessively hard to weld one yourself?

I don't trust myself doing a good job welding. Right now it wraps over the top.

The guys at rx7club recommend a side-draught, but I'm not sure if I have the room.

Let me correct myself. I don't have the room. I forgot that the 13B will be pushed further back.
