I must say, I was dissapointed when I saw the Stig drive the Viper in the wet. I think it would post a much better time in the dry. Even if you subtract the 4 sec.

We should have a signature campaign and send over to Top Gear

The viper Probaly wont do better than the 4 seconds thing, its poorly set up for a track like the TG test track...and besides, if they brought back every car that did poorly in the wet for a new round we would'nt get to see new cars. I would love to see the 997 Carrera S go at it in the dry, but i wiuld also like to see new cars do it!

agreed - keep it new and fresh i think

I don't know..obviously it will be faster in the dry but I am not sure if it will be better handling wise.

omg, i cant believe so may people voted the viper is slow. Ignorant ****ers.

we mean round a track, outside of america speed often implies round a track rather than on a drag strip

useless

seems like almost everyone fromt he UK is predjudice against american sports cars. saying they are only made for dragstrips. but theres no use arguing about something thats been ground into your head.
the viper is good on the track also.

Its the UK "Bash american cars" bandwagon.

It's not just in the UK and Canada...a lot of us here in the States also hate them :tease: I'd much rather have a hot german or japanese car!

Not just in the UK or Canada or the US but here in Australia too. Face it. Slow on the track.

its because its cool to hate american cars, so you choose to be ignorant like the rest. just ignore all of american's race history and all the good american cars, and focus on the bad. or compare american cars to other cars priced twice as high.

race history, junior...why dont i enlighten you on american race history

there are 2 "american" cars worth mentoning...

the GT40 (built by british people in britain), which had some sucess at leamns, although to be fair, porsche was running the 90X (904, 906, 910, 908) carreras, which were more akin to todays P2 cars while ferrari had pulled out due to a fight Enzo had with the ACO regarding the legality of...the second american car worth mentoning.

the Daytona Cobra Coupe...which owes its lemans sucess to ferrari Boycotting the race because the ACO bought shelbys BS about the coupes being nothing more than hard top 427 Cobras. (the cars were only loosely based on the chassis and the engine of the 427 and should not have been alowed to race due to only 4 ever being built, disqualifying them from homoligation)

the only one of these cars to ever run against the real people with racing sucess, ferrari and porsche, was the GT40, and It was killed by the 917 the first time they raced against one another.

the only othet thing you may be refering to, using the words american, race and sucess in the same paragraph, would be your own series which are not internatonal...Ie NASCAR

Next argument

and by the way...Dodge Viper $105,000 USD Porsche 911 Turbo $110,000 USD

Ill take the Porsche

dont forget ugly - i find most american cars to have little or no style... an yes, i know not all non-american cars are good, so dont yell at me for that!

if american cars are your big passion, top gear probably isnt your program

your missing the point. just like jeremy said, the Viper is like having a giant pet elephant. Let me see you guys talk trash about the corvette.

I dont care much for nascar. My favorite form of racing is WRC. I just hate it when people make ignorant comments. but i'm too lazy to make an effort to enlighten them most of the time. :p

you assume everyone does nothing but drag race. but we have very active club, autox, drifting, and mountain racing.

I bet you guys think aston martins and Jaguars are cars that give lots of bang for the buck, dont you? or... since your UK, push for the pound?

I'm not missing the point.

the vette is crap...based on an ancient platform, and is only cheap on materials. an any other market besides in the american market it costs as much as a 997 carrera...and its ugly.

these comments are not ignorant...loving something based soley on where it comes from is...if the US made a worth while car I would aplaud them...I do like the S7 and MT900 by the way.

star making sence boy...

there is more to the price of a car than what it costs to buy...unless you plan to buy one car and keep it till you die...resale value is as important as initial price...something your american cars do not have. over 4 years the vetter and viper depreciate by more dollars then a porshe, aston or ferrari. making them cheaper to own in the real world.

1st bolded part:

What he meant was. Its like having a mode of transport that is slow, weighs a fuckload, doesn't corner well but if it had to, could run into a tree and not come off second best.

2nd bolded point:

You don't like a series that is run with american cars. You like the one with all the japanese and european cars.

Lastly, I'd rather pay for quality build and modern components than opt out for the cheaper option and get a car that has horse drawn cart suspension. Hell even my base model 96 Lancer thats worth about 5000 AU dollars has IRS.
