Well...haha suckers...enjoy your little "scam" idea...
1) didn't cost me a thing, actually got free postage out of the deal
2) total spam in e-mail = 0
3) total time to get 5 referals = 1 week without trying
4) total time waiting to get ipod = ~3.5 week
5) yes, i chose the HP ipod instead...better warranty...only difference is small hp logo on the back under the apple one, and a different HD manufacter

WTF...

Does it actually work? :p

Anyway, this has to be logically impossible. I mean how could they stay in business? They must sell your information.

i guess it works huh ;)
they can sell it all they want...i haven't got any spam, and if i get junk in the mail, i don't really notice, we get alot of junk mail anyways...

it said you need a credit card or telephone bill, wtf is that?

did they bill you or use ur credit card?

did u recieve any phone calls from telemarketers?

im still a skeptic.

credit card infor is something i dont give out and another thing, how do we know you dont work for that site in some way?

never heard of the phone bill...but credit card yes, and you don't give it to the freeipod people, whatever offer you sign up for, that's where you put your CC info...(like if it's the ebay offer, you give them your info)...

i signed up for the stamps.com offer, got my credit for it on freeipods.com, got my "welcome package" from stamps.com, printed up my free postage, waited 1 week and called them and canceled my account...2 minute phone call, lady just asked why i was canceling, just told her i didn't need the service as much as i thought, she thanked me and that was that...never got charged anything, and i still got free postage...

oh and no phone calls, no emails, and nothing in regular mail either...

and yes, it's a windows/apple ipod. works on both systems :D

Ah, that makes. The whole sign up and cancel thing. Those companies pay for it.

yeah dont change that avatar ever, once i was reading a post and that thing caught the corner of my eye and i felt as if it "did that" on purpose, lol.

<-- prefers iRivers anyday

but if this really is free then you have a $200 piece of FREE merchandise, you could sell it for FREE cash!

is www.freeipods.com a worldwide offer? or just in the US and would they know if you just made hotmail accounts and got 5 referals using them?

1) they don't like yahoo, hotmail or lycos emails
2) it's a US only thing
3) they check on your refereals...they run the system to make every user that signs up is unique (they check CC, address, names, and ip addresses apparently, so don't have like 3 people sign up from your computer at home or whatever) or your account goes on hold.

Be warned, I have a friend that did this and the company he signed up with charged him a ton of money and he never saw a iPod. :|

what do u mean "don't like hotmail accounts"

what about gmail?

damnit it goes by IP adress soon..prob just get on the laptop and find a router somewhere...(btw i sent it to my own personal account and it will always refere me to the other dude)

PS. Did u cancal your account a week after you got the stuff or after actavation?

PPS. How did u get 5 in a week? they have to sign up and junk...

sorry, i was away for the weekend...

doesn't liek hotmail = some of the important e-mails don't make it to your account at all...it just doesn't get recieved...same with lycos and yahoo...gmail hasn't given a problem...

i signed up for stamps.com, got my welcome package in the mail, signed on to their software, printed out my $5 worth of free postage, waited 2 weeks (just in case) and canceled...really easy to cancel, 2 minute phone call, just told the lady i didn't need the service as much as i thought i did, and she thanked me and canceled the account...

the 5 in a week, honestly i don't know, one of the other message boards i visit, i put my referal link in a sig, and after about a week, i noticed i had 7 people sign up and 5 completed the offers...i don't even know 6 of the people that signed up, 1 of them was my friend...
