They really are endearing, somehow . I'd trade my Celica in a heartbeat to have my old truck back. What I really want now is a 3/4-1 ton 4x4 model (totally indestructible ), or maybe a K5 Blazer. They practically grow on trees where I live.

I can't possibly know how do you define cool for yourself, but try turning up at any big trackday and see the ratio of Porsches to any other sportscar. The fact alone that soooo many Porsche buyers are not just posers with big pockets, but are getting everything they can from their cars, is pretty cool in my book.
I could live with a silent jealous hate of the next-lane neighbour as long as I'm in a GT3

Meh, that falls in line with my "beginning-of life-" and I'm sure to follow "end-of life-" and "anything in-between-" crisis.
Besides, I'm a 35 year old guy in an STI, I'm sure I already look like a douche.
But none of that matters (at least not to me) when you're driving it (and if you've given up on caring what others think about you like I have).
